The United Nations (UN) conducted one of the first comprehensive studies aimed at developing guidelines for the implementation of electronic records archives and records management programs for the use of UN organizations. The report, Management of Electronic Records: Issues and Guidelines (known informally as the ACCIS report), published The Advisory Committee for the Coordination of Information Systems (ACCIS) was succeeded by Information Systems Coordinating Committee (ISCC) in 1993. The United Nations Information, Communication and Technology Network is currently the successor body to that committee. by the United Nations Advisory Committee for the Coordination of Information Systems in 1990, recognized the problem of ensuring the authenticity of records and the need for recordkeeping requirements to be built into electronic systems. |
