With sold copies of its well-known edition from 1991, "A Framework for Project and Program Management Integration", the new book of Max Wideman, "A Management Framework for Project, Program and Portfolio Integration" from 2004, has become one of the leading project management system reference. The book is an introduction to project management system. It is especially important for students who attend one or more terms of project management, as well as for continuing education seminars or webinars programs. After studying the book reader develops a real understanding of how project management system can be framed for practical needs, which makes the book contents and this exciting profession even more important than originally described in the book.

Now, to better address the key questions that still surrounds most project management systems, "A Management Framework for Project, Program and Portfolio Integration" presents revised, updated and significantly enhanced book. This new edition extends both the range and depth of the original volume. Among the many improvements you will find:

-An extraordinary literary review of project management system, which has risen to the level of primary research. This is especially helpful in Part II, which covers project life span and evolution of project management models through the last three decades.

-New entries, as: Marasco's `the Project Pyramid' model and the Project Portfolio Management. Those and other entries the author expands and specify in details to the level that can be used for organization's competitive advantage.

-A broad discussion of different aspects, trends and limitations of project management system.

Max Wideman is one of the pioneers of PMI standards and has been one of the best supporters of the project management profession. His book "A Management Framework for project , Program, and Portfolio Management" is one that every serious project manager should have in their library. Max's website [...]is a treasure house of project management knowledge. Max's book reviews are an in-depth study of content as well as comments from the author(s). His glossary of project management terms is extensive and provides definitions not found elsewhere. Max Wideman really has done it all!

Mr Wideman is an authority in the field of Project Management and his website is always a good source for information but moreover for thought. No need to add that no matter whether you share or not his points of view, his perspective is always an invitation for questioning what you think you know.
