Book Description

Millennials mean business, and they are shaking up the workplace as they enter management roles for the very first time. They are tearing down the corporate ladder, communicating on the fly, and bringing play to work. Millennials are creative, big thinkers, and they will change the face of leadership—IF they can bridge the gap between the hierarchical management style of senior executives and the casual, more collaborative approach of their peers.

Manager 3.0 is the first-ever management guide for Millennials. They will master crucial skills such as dealing with difficult people, delivering constructive feedback, and making tough decisions—while gaining insight into the four generations in the workplace and how they can successfully bring out the best in each.

Packed with interviews and examples from companies like Zappos, Groupon, Southwest Airlines, and Google, Manager 3.0 will help these new managers enhance their unique talents while developing an effective leadership style all their own.

I am member of Generation X, but this book was an eye opening, paradigm shifting experience. It put a lot of things into perspective of why my employees are the way they are and gave me great ideas and tools to use to help my team be the best team possible.

If you are going to learn something about millennial management this is not the book. This millennial will be exist in 3000 … after another 1000 years.

I would call this as some body’s definition to Millennial Management , not guide to millennial. Boring language , and gave up reading.

Key is this book has been written by a Gen X or an older..

Had to buy it for a class. Pretty pedestrian and, honestly, only reminds me that social fixation is shifting from baby-boomers to millennials. A light read, with a few useful tools. An editor should have taken a second run at the text.

Manager 3.0 does a great job to communicate how to influence and lead multigenerational workforces in the 21st century. The authors effectively blend in their own professional experiences within the text, rather than provide a wonkish view of the subject. While this book may be targeted to millenials, it is accessible to current and future managers of all ages that would like build better teams and organizations.

I am very familiar with Gen Y/Millennials as it is a very relevant topic for my profession and career. However, do not be fooled even if you think you know a lot of Millennials. Manager 3.0 provides the reader with more in depth, useful information about this widely creative generation. Brad Karsh not only continues to educate us about this generation in a thoughtful and humorous manner but provides some beef behind the concept. Whether you need to train your Millennials on negotiating, engaging, storytelling/training, accountability-Manager 3.0 covers it. An interesting, relevant and easy read.
