About the Author

Dr. Carl S. Warren is Professor Emeritus of Accounting at the University of Georgia, Athens. For over twenty-five years, Professor Warren taught all level of classes. In recent years, Professor Warren focused his teaching efforts on principles of accounting and auditing classes. Professor Warren has taught classes at the University of Iowa, Michigan State University, and University of Chicago. Professor Warren received his doctorate degree (Ph.D.) from Michigan State University and his undergraduate (B.B.A) and masters (M.A.) degrees from the University of Iowa. Professor Warren's outside interests include writing short stories and novels, painting, handball, golf, skiing, backpacking, and fly-fishing. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

This college textbook, which is actually the second half of financial (with the first half being cost) is a very important book for understanding much of the basics of accounting. The instructor I have actually recommends taking this class before Cost Accounting. It is very easy to read, very, very easy to understand and has illustrations with all aspects of managerial accounting, using sample companies in explaining different aspects of manaufacturing (service is covered more in Cost). Worth while, even without a taking a college course, for anybody who needs to advance in a job and needs a general understanding of the process of manufacturing companies and managing.

I needed this book for my Managerial Accounting class and at the bookstore of my school it was over $200. But for this class I also needed a CengageNOW account, which comes with the book from the bookstore. That was the only thing that I have disputes with for this book from Amazon. Although, I orderd the Cengage code from the website and that plus the book from Amazon were still much cheaper than from my school bookstore. =]
