5.0 out of 5 stars Good Book
This book provides an excellent background for learning applied managerial economics. Mr. Baye uses interesting real-world examples, which is difficult when writing about the entirely hypothetical world of micro-economics. I felt that the section on Game Theory was especially useful in explaining real world market paricipant behavior in pricing decisions. Overall, I...

2.0 out of 5 stars Wrong Book...
I needed the 7th edition of this book, so when I saw that it was digital, I scooped it up. It was only after my instructor told me I was doing the wrong problems did I notice that the digital version is the 6th edition! There are significant changes between the 6th and 7th edition and I am now scrambling to get a book so I don't fail this class. This digital book should...

Overall, I would highly recommend this book for both students of economics, as well as those non-students seeking a weekend of light reading in the topic of economics.

2.0 out of 5 stars Wrong Book..., June 20, 2011

I needed the 7th edition of this book, so when I saw that it was digital, I scooped it up. It was only after my instructor told me I was doing the wrong problems did I notice that the digital version is the 6th edition! There are significant changes between the 6th and 7th edition and I am now scrambling to get a book so I don't fail this class. This digital book should not be linked to the 7th edition textbook listing. Only matching editions should be linked.

4.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful combination of theoretical economics and hands-on business strategies, June 26, 2006
Used during my MBA studies at Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, North Carolina, the book was alwys helpful and provided me the necessary insights into the economical theory. I alredy learned the content back in Germany during my first business administration studies. Nevertheless, the American studies are more oriented towards the practical approach, so it provided me a good help to build the bridge between the economic theories, and the hands-on practical approach. We all sweated sometimes sitting over complicated formulas, but this book makes it easy to understand. A great help, as mentioned before. There is in the meantime a newer version on the market, but this one was fine for me, too. When you look for a good, solid help to understand the basics on how everything flows together, this book is a great resource!

The writing style, graphics, examples, problem sets, and real-world topics make this book an outstanding resource for the MBA student. This book is written such that you get the most out of the subject of managerial economics within precise, well-written chapters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful, October 28, 2001
I have never been too crazy about or never been good at economics, but after reading this book, I feel I understand the real-world economics better. For a novice like me, it is relatively easy to follow the contents because it's full of examples from real business world. I assume this book will be satisfactory to more "academic" readers too because the book still doesn't fail to cover real economic materials like graphs and theories.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dry economics lessons manual, June 3, 2009
This book was required for my graduate program and it is easy to read and clearly understandable. HOWEVER, that being said, it is a dry book to have to plow through and is a bit like chewing on nails. I have had many economics classes and this is by far one of the better books as far as economics texts-concepts are clear, but the numeric equations are not and there are several sections where there are additional "alegra alternatives" solutions to the numeric equations that just quantify the confusion of the already lofty material.

5.0 out of 5 stars Managerial Economics book for school, March 20, 2009

I am very happy with this book, there are clear examples throughout the chapters that are very helpful for completing the homework problems at the end of each chapter. There are also many visual diagrams and real life examples to help explain each concept.

1.0 out of 5 stars not the correct edition, January 11, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This seller is apparently in India and I ordered from America. I ordered a Managerial Economics book from them and they sent the "International Edition". It states directly on the book that "This International Edition is not to be sold or purchased in North America and contains content that is different from its North American version." Even worse, they used black tape to cover the words "International Edition" on the cover of the book.
I don't know if I'll have time to return it since I need it for a class I'm currently taking, but I'm going to be in trouble if the assignments are different in this edition.
