Book Description

October 10, 2003
"A Manager's Guide to Health and Safety at Work" continues to serve as a standard reference text for all levels of management, particularly in the case of those small to medium sized enterprises that may not be in a position to employ a health and safety specialist. Students of the subject, including those taking CIEH, IOSH and CIPD courses should also find the book useful as a primary text on the subject. This seventh edition has been updated in the light of the Health and Safety Commission Guidance "Directors' responsibilities for health and safety" which extends and intensifies the current corporate duties and liabilities of directors under health and safety law. A number of modifications and changes have been made to the previous edition, including sections on competent persons, work-related upper limb disorders, revised first aid procedures, manual handling injuries and mobile work equipment.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Information methodically set out and systematically covered, complete with lists of reference... sensibly written" - Daily Telegraph "Simply expressed and clearly presented... quick and reliable answers" - Modern Management "Clear, informative and readable...would be useful for a manager with little or knowledge of health and safety to have ready at hand." - Health and Safety at Work "The definitive book on the topic... a must for all health and safety managers" - Your Business" --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
