I bought this for my d-i-l so only flipped through it a little, but it looks amazing! I wish I'd had it 20 years ago!
The book includes theory, the "why"s, and practical tips on "how-to"s for scheduling. It gives about 30 sample schedules so the reader can get ideas of what might work for her. It also provides blank templates for the reader to create her own schedules. (It does get a bit into why or why not to have children, which seems to me beyond the scope of the book's theme, but that section can be overlooked.)

This is a book I will come back to over and over again. I have tried writing out and starting schedules in our home for years. Nothing stuck for more than a few days. This book is very systematic, very easy to read and follow, and has been wonderful. The author has good suggestions, and aids, and tells you right up front to make the system work for you. Some things I'm not ready for yet, such as the homeschooling section, but it gave me peace of mind for when I get to that point. Also, I couldn't follow her "scheduling babies" section too well. I've always had my babies on a steady routine, but it is a little more variable than her set schedule for them. But the general ideas in these sections are excellent, just had to be tweaked for me, which is exaclty as the author encourages. I bought it used from amazon, then later found out I could have bought it new, directly from Steve and Terri Maxwells' website for a $1 more. I would recommend that. There is no way I was paying over $100 for it!
