Book Description

April 4, 2000
Getting started, maintaining momentum, maximizing investment returns and minimizing the tax bite is a daunting task. Novice or seasoned Certified Financial Planner John Sestina provides the information to move investors to the next level.

Sestina's new book summarizes more than three decades of financial counseling and training financial advisors to help investors create a realistic and goal-oriented financial plan. Details on how to get started and when to do it, complete with time lines and sequences of activities are included. He addresses the significance of each stage in the planning process, and points out questions to get answered by professionals. His "big picture" approach is supported with more than 70 detailed checklists and calculations to keep investors on track. Sestina addresses:

* financial concepts needed to get started * how to identify where you are and where you want to go * the importance of big goals and how to achieve them--retirement,

education, home ownership * strategies to manage risk with insurance * investment allocations, tax reduction and estate planning issues * how to find a good financial advisor

5.0 out of 5 stars The best book on finances period !, June 19, 2000
This review is from: Managing to Be Wealthy (Paperback)
Voted by his peers to be the #1 planner in the business, John Sestina is the undisputed expert when it comes to financial planning. The book is written in a readable format, without compromising the integrity of the complex subject. I have already given away my first copy and have ordered a second one. This is not a novel; you will want to have a notebook and hi-lighters on hand if you are serious about applying his teaching. John's clients pay hundreds of dollars an hour for his advice, and you can get his thought process here for less than twenty dollars. If you are even remotely interested in learning more about finances, I highly recommend this book.

John Sestina shows how with Common Sense you can get on track to having a truly secure financial future. The steps he describes are in laymen's terms that can be followed without having to have a Doctorate Degree in Finance. Great Book. I've given copies of this book to my family.

5.0 out of 5 stars John is the source and the most qualified, June 7, 2000

This review is from: Managing to Be Wealthy (Paperback)
in the world of Financial Planning John Sestina is the MAN. No one absolutely no one is more qualified to write about FP. No matter what your income is there's incredible tips for you. Especially at this price. He accomplishments alone are enough. Read anything by him and/or listen to his radio programs. Ask yourself who are you getting your financial information from? if you take their advice ( which is meant to help you of course) ask yourself, " do I want what they have?" John Sestina no nonsense logical approach works - he has the fruit on the tree to support his book. Again for the price how can you go wrong?
