Book Description

June 18, 2008
With low estimates of six million sufferers and high estimates of up to twelve million, chances are you know someone with Fibromyalgi, a family member, a friend, a fellow employee or even yourself. Fibromyalgia is fast becoming a household word. It can and does affect the workplace, the home, relationships and the very quality of life of the person dealing with a Fibromyalgic body.

Although the medical community is diligently studying and researching this condition, there is not yet a cure in sight. The trouble is Fibromyalgia is not a one-treatment-fits-all kind of a syndrome. Managing Fibromyalgia/Getting to know your Aggravators addresses the often hidden and unknown factors that aggravate this syndrome.

This small but informative book is written by an ordinary person who speaks from ten years of experiencing Fibromyalgia. There is no fancy medical jargon inside these pages, just plain talk about how to minimize your aggravators and about the numerous complementary and alternative options that have proven to help relieve the pain of Fibromyalgia. You can regain the quality of life that you deserve. This book will help.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Managing Fibromyalgia provides very practical techniques for people with fibromyalgia to take charge of their health. By listing the common aggravators that cause pain to increase, and nutritional suggestions that make pain lessen, those who help others with fibromyalgia can provide real support. I really appreciate the energy Pati Chandler put into her book for everyone to read. --Jane Oelke, ND, PhD., Author of Natural Choices for Fibromyalgia

About the Author

Pati Chandler lives in Mishawaka, Indiana, with her husband and four cats. She is the mother of four children and grandmother of six. A diverse background of studies at the University of Indiana at South Bend in the 1980 s included many classes in psychology, criminal justice, philosophy and journalism earning her an Associates Degree in General Studies.

From security work at the University, then at the security checkpoint at the local airport, she moved on to her real love working for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). In 1998, after nine years with the DNR, she contracted Fibromyalgia and was forced to leave her job and focus on her health. She now works thirty hours a week at a large retail department store.

She enjoys reading and watching movies that leave a smile on her face. She is a tree-hugger and animal-lover, finding the joy and beauty in nature an inspiration for her writing.
