Michel A. Bell is a believer in Jesus Christ, founder and president of Managing Gods Money Ministries, and author of "Managing Gods Money-The Basics." He held several executive positions during 32 years with Alcan Inc., leaving in 2002 as Vice President Business Planning, bauxite, alumina and specialty chemicals. He is a graduate of the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
In December 1985, after a two year journey to show his twelve year old daughter Christianity was for uneducated, feeble minded folks, Michel A. Bell surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. Today, his life goal is, as the Lord leads, teach biblical stewardship of time, talents and money.
Married to Doreen in 1970, they have two children and five grand children. Michel and Doreen have lived in Jamaica, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the USA. Today they live in Ontario, Canada.
Michel held many senior finance, strategy, and planning positions in the former Alcan Inc. group (now Rio Tinto Alcan), including Regional Vice President Finance and Legal for Alcan's Pacific subsidiary, and Chief Financial Officer for Alcan's worldwide bauxite and alumina group. In July 2002, after an exciting, enjoyable, and productive 32-year career, he left Alcan as Vice President Business Planning for this group to become full-time president of the private, Christian, non-charity organization, Managing God's Money, which he started five years earlier.
Named an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow in 1975, he holds a Masters of Science degree in Management from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T). He is a Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants of the UK and has authored five books, four on money and one on time. In the early 90's Michel started presenting Bible-based approaches to handling finances at churches, to individuals, couples, and groups. Since then, he has presented seminars on Managing God's Money and Managing God's Time internationally. In Canada, between 2001 and 2006, Michel partnered with Focus on the Family to present specific time and money seminars.
A frequent guest on radio and TV, he has appeared several times on CTS TV's 100 Huntley Street. Weekly during 2005, Michel presented "Money Matters" on 100 Huntley Street. In 2007, as a visiting faculty at Briercrest Seminary, Caronport, Saskatchewan, Michel developed and taught a course, Time, Life, and Project Management, based on his Managing God's Time book.
