About the Author
Arthur Sherman is a Professor of Psychology at California State University Sacramento. During the majority of his academic career he has taught courses in organizational psychology personnel psychology human resources management psychological testing and professional development in psychology. Dr. Sherman has served as a consultant to several organizations including the Department of Consumer Affairs of the State of California and the Social Security Administration. For over twenty years he had a private practice as a Licensed Psychologist specializing in career counseling. Dr. Sherman received his P.H.D in industrial and counseling psychology from The Ohio State University. Professional affiliations include: American Psychological Association the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Academy of Management. He has been an author of Managing Human Resources since the first edition and has also written Personnel Practices of American Companies in Europe published by the American Management Association.
