5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent resource for maintaining Exchange Server 5.5
After using Tony Redmund's book to learn about Exchange server and deploy it, I found this book to be an excellent source on practical maintenance procedures. Well planned and thought out it does get a bit dry at times but it is intended to cover every detail. 2.0 out of 5 stars TechNet in a book
Handy book to have around the shop, although nothing more than a reprint of Technet.

After using Tony Redmund's book to learn about Exchange server and deploy it, I found this book to be an excellent source on practical maintenance procedures. Well planned and thought out it does get a bit dry at times but it is intended to cover every detail. Not what I would recommend for those doing an MCSE but a definite MUST for those who take care of Exchange servers. Lots of examples, checklists, and scripts that you can use right out of the book. Excellent suggestions on automating maintenance procedures and processes.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any Exchange organization, February 1, 2001

This book won't help you in the least if you're studying to pass an MCSE exam. Fortunately passing an Exchange exam and administering an Exchange server for an organization have almost nothing in common.

For those looking to effectively plan and manage their Exchange environment this book provides an excellent set of things to consider along with some standard Microsoft recommendations, which you can fine tune to meet the needs of your particular organization.

Most of the information found here can be found in various whitepapers and technet articles on Microsoft's website, but it's nice to have them all compiled into a single location which can easily be referenced.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read book, October 30, 1998

My boss gave me this book and I started reading for different needs. It points out many good things about supporting Exchange Server and Outlook client. I like how it is written to help people who are going to roll out Exchange server and Outlook. Also to eastiblish their standard or policy using Outlook clients.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not for Beginners, May 29, 2000

This review is from: Managing and Maintaining Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 (Paperback)
This book is very helpful in day to day Exchange Administration, I do not recommend this for some one preparing for MCSE or a beginner in this field, you need to have a good grasp on the subject matter to get your moneys worth from this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your mony in this book, June 10, 1999

I'm currently reading this book to enter the MCSE Exam, I finished 5 chapters out of 15. I think I'm wasting my time and already wasted my money.

I think it's one of the worest MS Press books.
