Emotional intelligence is no longer a new concept but systematic research of its impact on IT work has just started. Eugene Kaluzniacky's book explains why personality types, cognitive and creativity styles, and emotional intelligence do have an impact on IT workers, teams and corporate bottom lines. The author presents the concepts and how they influence specific IT tasks; backed by solid research, he offers insights and solutions to problems any IT worker or manager can relate to. The book is a tremendous asset for the maturing IT profession and for any serious practitioner in the field. I have directly benefitted from the insights this book equipped me with: I was able to validate some of the professional decisions and moves I did (or did not do) in the 20+ years spent in IT; I acquired a new angle to help me orient my development from now on - within and outside the professional arena. The concept of "inner deeper self" is very engaging although not very easy to grasp; probably a little ahead of its time. Despite the density and the academic rigour of the text, I had fun too reading this book; and for the very same reasons this is one book to come back to!

Excellent book and this text can be your key to success and fulfillment in your IT career. Timely message on comprehensive psychological awareness in IT --can help you build, or help other people to build successful professional and personal lives. It is a recommended textbook for Project Management practitioners as well.
