I like this book for several reasons...

It is written from a management perspective, not a technology perspective.

The chapters are very compartmentalized. If you have no interest in a specific topic, skip the chapter and move on to the next one. No penalty.

It covers the many aspects of technology and its role and application in any enterprise from budgeting to recruiting to social media.

I work for a small (17 employees) non-profit, (www.yesmagazine.org) and this book provides a great overview, particularly helpful for those of us who are balancing many functions. I particularly like the finding and keeping the right people section, and the section on how to make a technology plan. The book stays at a relatively high level, but is a good source for making sure we haven't forgotten to address any area. And technology is such a moving target, that it's hard to stay current, and yet not spend too much money! And this book takes that point of view.

Holly Ross and the Staff at NTEN did a great job pulling together some of the brightest people from the nonprofit technology field. Each chapter in this book represents a vast set of knowledge and experiences. So that when you combine them all into a single book, you get enormous value and real world examples. Each chapter is worth the price of the book. This book will provide strategies, ideas and tools that you can implement today and for years to come. (granted I am a bit biased as an author)
