Managing and Using Information Systems,

This review is from: Managing and Using Information Systems: A Strategic Approach (Wiley Series in Probability and Statistics) (Paperback)
I read this book during a MCIS class. This book is very well written for those looking for abroad overview of topics. This will cover many different topics including one chapter on financials. For me this book happened to recap a lot previous courses which I have taken. I enjoyed this because it made me recall those ideas and realize that those other authors are sharing the same thoughts about many disparate subjects and topics.
The companion website for students was very help during my studies. They included a powerpoint slide per chapter which broke down the learning objects, the key points in each chapter's sub-heading, as well as a summary of the chapter in the end. They also included additional notes and resources for more in depth review of the chapter in discussion which my professor did not use but other may use I am sure. I would recommend this book for those wanting a board overview of the current state of many things an IT manager must take into consideration. If your looking for in-depth coverage on a specific topic you might do better looking elsewhere.

I'm reading this in an MBA MIS course. I'm also an IT manager, so I have a little more experience and perception behind what I'm reading.
No IT book is real life. They're mostly theory. This one does a decent job of integrating theory with recent case studies. It would suffice as an adequate IT training book for anyone who may be managing IT or may encounter those working in the field.

I read this book for an MBA module and found it very helpful. The book covers a wide range of issues without being too long. Its a great introduction to the material and gives the reader a nice coherent general picture.

Used this textbook for an Applications of Technology business school class. Easy to read, not overly dry. Good for the functional manager perspective

Obviously, only Buy if you're required in a class...
I don't remember opening this book more than once and still passing the class with an A. Absolute waste of money...

Great and fast shipping of the book but I was a bit dissapointed that the book was
slightly bent. I expected a brand new book to be crisp and clean. Otherwise I would have given the full 5 stars.

I ordered this book on line for class and received it within the expected timeframe. The description of the book's condition was accurate and worth the asking price.
I really appreciated the email from the seller when the item was shipped. It arrived a day later than another book I ordered from another vendor, but it was still within the expected timeframe. I would order from this seller again.
