An enjoyable and interesting life story. This book gives illuminating insights into the life of one woman in the years from 1941 to 2009. It paints vivid pictures of various settings from rural Ireland in the early 1940's to industrial England and pre revolutionary Iran. It is the story of a woman who manages to triumph through the strength of her own inner powers, when after the unexpected death of her first son; she was left to regain her emotional strength without any help from her family. The writer has many very touching and sometimes humorous stories to tell. She explains a life of love and tolerance which in persuit of happiness had led her into a secret marriage to a suave and charming Iranian student, which proved to be a most fatal attraction. She then goes on to tell of the time spent with him and their two children in his country of Iran. Following her divorce after twenty years in a turbulent marriage, the writer once again rebuilds her life, then went on to buy a Care Home for old people in Blackpool enjoying the job with all it's responsibilities. She later moved to Ireland and bought land from her uncle in a most beautiful rural setting which she calls her ' Suburb of Paradise' on which she built a B&B, blending the friendships of a close community with the cosmopolitan life of running her B&B welcoming visitors from all over the world including New Zealand, Australia, and the USA.

The book is based on the writers many and varied experiences as a woman in England, Ireland and Iran. The book gives illuminating insights into life for a woman in the years from 1941 to 2009. A woman who manages to triumph through the strenght of her own inner powers.

The writer paints vivid pictures of the various settings from rural Ireland in the 1940's to Industrial England and pre revolutionary Iran. She tells of when she met and fell in love with an Iranian student whom she married before going to live in Iran with their two children, remaining there until the revolution became a serious situation. She also tells of her struggle after the unexpected death of her first son when she was left to regain her emotional strength and rebuild her life without any help from her family. The writer has many very touching and sometimes humorous stories to tell.

After her twenty years of marriage which brought her plenty of heartache until her divorce. She then went on to buy a Care Home for old people in Blackpool where she lived and worked very happily for the next twenty one years.

After her retirement in 2002 she moved to Ireland and bought land from her uncle in a most beautiful rural setting where she built a B&B blending the friendships of a close community with the cosmopolitan life of running her B&B welcoming visitors from all over the world including New Zealand Australia and the USA.

About the Author

Maureen was born in Manchester to Irish parents and treasures the childhood memories of her time spent in Ireland on her granddads' farms, and later running her own business in County Lei trim. Ireland has always remained very close to her heart. She has traveled extensively and led an adventurous life. She now divides her time between Lei trim in Ireland, and Blackpool in England.
