Empower Yourself With Mandala,
This review is from: Mandala--The Art of Creating Future (Paperback)
If you are looking for a lengthy history of mandalas and in-depth analysis of the geometric equations and mathematical ratios of sacred geometry, then this is NOT the book for you; but if you want a simple, elegant, and practical book for putting the power of mandalas to work in your life today, then this is the perfect book. No one gets right to the heart of the matter like intuitive artist June-Elleni Laine. And nowhere will you find as many creative ideas for healing and empowerment through the mandala than in this book. In explaining how to harness the energy of the mandala, Laine touches briefly on the history and science behind the art of the mandala; but, she never gets bogged down in the details. This is a book of movement, of action, of change, like the ever-changing movement and energy of the mandala itself. Highly recommended.

This is a disappointing read. There is virtually nothing in here that is new. The writing is punctuated by too many exclamation points, and is very simplistic, which gives the feeling of reading something a second grader would have written. If you really want to learn more about mandalas and how to use them, Judith Cornell's book , MANDALA: Luminous Symbols for Healing, Mandala: Luminous Symbols for Healing, 10th Anniversary Edition with a New CD of Meditations and Exercises, or Mandala: Journey to the Center (Whole Way Library) are far better reads and definitely more useful.
The best line is this book is: "Where intention goes, energy flows, but fear creates lack, as it turns the flow back." The only other thing that I would say is good about this book is that the author emphasizes that the mandalas you create must be looked at often in order for them to have any effect.

An amazing guide to understanding and creating Mandalas,
This review is from: Mandala--The Art of Creating Future (Paperback)
This book offers the idea that your own personal art can be key in manifestation, without the need to be an artist. I discovered that this is not a new idea and that mankind has used shamanic art for ions. However the mystery that has surrounded Mandalas for centuries is not no longer necessary. The instructions from June-Elleni Laine are related in a straight forward, enthusiastic and practical ways with life-stories from various participants that served as encouragment so anyone can create simple Mandalas that work. As well as taking the mystery out of Mandala making, this insitful author also takes the art of Mandala making to the next stage as she introduces the idea that we are all living Mandalas; that as containers for energy we broadcast our thoughts words and actions daily into our energy field. And, that if we take care of our thoughts, words and actions, we will see the results quickly and easily in our life. A great reminder to be aware of what we are doing and how we are being. I found this book not just as a guide for understanding the Mandala, but a practical tool for coralling my own personal energies so they could be utilized in a positive and meaningful manner. I highly recommend this book without reservation. Steven C., Esq., Adjunct Professor and Attorney-at-Law

Inspiring, Comprehensive, and Practical,

This review is from: Mandala--The Art of Creating Future (Paperback)
This book's greatest success is that it presents its subject matter (the art of Mandala) in a very practical manner, without sacrificing beauty and inspiration. Mandalas can be beautiful to look at, but the changes they manifest in our lives can be even more beautiful - and THAT beauty can be best experienced when one actually creates a Mandala. June Elleni-Laine is cognizant of this fact and, as a result, takes on the role of "caring teacher" in this book. She takes you step by step through the Mandala making process and instills the confidence needed to switch into right brain mode and make the first mark on the page. Equally, if not more important, she has introduced me to the concept of the living Mandala - one which we are constantly creating, whether we are aware we are doing so or not. Clearly, Laine's goal was not to write a book about Mandalas. Her goal, rather, was for the reader to actually create a Mandala - knowing the positive effect it would have on both the reader and the world in general.

" the straight forward nature of this book is the key.... maybe those looking for a more complicated solution need to reevaluate their lives and realise how simple Mandalas are and that they are not new, in fact are 40,000 years old, but non the less just as effective now as ever! This books reintroduces Mandalas for us all, even for us to share with our children." :)
