Editorial Reviews

This 90-minute documentary is an insider's view of Nelson Mandela's triumphant visit to the United States. He went to nine cities in eleven days, filling stadiums and energizing millions of Americans with memorable public and private moments. Globalvision had exclusive behind-the-scenes access - from the streets of Harlem to Yankee Stadium, from the White House to Congress, from tense moments in Miami to a wildly enthusiastic reception in a Detroit factory. Appearances by Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Tracy Chapman, Johnny Clegg and Savuka, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Danny Glover, David Dinkins, Eddie Murphy, Spike Lee, and many more. Danny Schechter, news dissector from WBCN " the American revolution" radio in activist Boston in the 70s , journalist , author and film maker, travelled America with Madiba on his American tour after his release from prison. Schechter, long time activist against segregation here and apartied in South Africa, had a front row seat to this historic celebration of justice. Watch and dance with Nelson as he smiles his way accross our country.
