somewhat disapointed,
This review is from: Mandie and the Graduation Mystery (Mandie, Book 40) (Mass Market Paperback)
I started reading the mandie books when I was nine and have been reading all of them as they come out since. I really love the series but I must say as a thirteen year old, fifteen year old mandie acts younger than she did in the first book. When will she grow up???!!!! I still recomend this series to every girl, and I hope that the new series Mrs.Leppard is coming out with will be better in the whole maturity area.

I was personally slightly dissapointed with this book. The mystery well just wasn't all that exciting. Of course if your into the Mandie books( which you should be) you should read it. I mean it was a good book! Just not what I normally look for when I read Mandie.I under stand that this is the last book. That is sooooo sad. Still It should be on your list of books to read.

I really loved this book alot like I do every Mandie book.I can't wait to read "New Horizons".The only thing that disapointed me was that I was hoping that Mandie would go to Joe's college. Can't wait to read the next book.

Well, for one, the whole mystery is well... lacking. Not exactly what I was expecting. The only real mystery is a stolen dress... Oh my, so exciting, um not! I guess Ms. Leppard was so involved in getting her next series going that she just kinda scribbled something down to end THIS series. I have to say I wish she had put some more effort into this book! It does not have the flow all the other Mandie books have. Only read this book to finish the series... Otherwise, spare yourself!

Look, the other reviews are pretty upsetting to me. I love Mandie books. This mystery might not be as exiting as the others but really, it was a good book. All of the Mandie books are wonderful. I hope Joe and Mandie grow up and get married. Maybe Mandie did not want to go to the college in Richmond, and you can't call her selfish for that. Joe should just let Mandie go to the college that she wants to go to but maybe he just wants her at his college and I would not blame him for wanting a great detective at his very own college! And maybe Mandie doesn't want to go to college in New York. I live in TX and I wouldn't want to go to college so far away from home either. Mandie can go to any college she wants to.

Very Disapointed!,

This review is from: Mandie and the Graduation Mystery (Mandie, Book 40) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was a huge disappointment. Ever since Mandie and the Dark Alley the Mandie books have fallen apart. I am a Mandie fan and love most of the books. This book was sooo slow. The only mystery was who stole her dress? That's easy! I knew it was April Snow as soon as the dress went missing. Why can't Mandie do anything wild anymore? And she is always acting like a "lady". I thought she was determined not to. IT seems that the author doesn't know how to make Mandie grow up. She is like 16 but acts like she is younger then 12. She stomps her feet, and asks permission to go look for her cat in her own yard. Worst of all her mother has to tell her to wear her coat. The thing that bothers me the most is that she isn't staying a country girl, but is turning into a city slicker! But Mandie isn't the only one that acts out of character. Mrs. Taft is being thought of as a tyrant instead of the fun and wild but slightly pushy grandmother we used to love. Mandie should at least respect the fact that Mrs. Taft is her Grandmother. And why does Celia let Mandie drag her every where. I wish the girl would stand up for herself occasionally. In this book it was obvious Celia wanted to go to the college in Richmond not Charleston, but Mandie could never sacrifice for her best friend. Celia does all the sacrificing! The most important thing that is missing in these books is the mystery! Now if you have never read the Mandie books I recommend you do. It's just this one and a few of the newer ones that have these problems.
