2.0 out of 5 stars One of the worst Mandie books ever!!!!
I hated this book. Throughout the entire book I was thinking how childish Mandie was to drag Celia into a dangerous alley and risked getting hurt or even kidnapped! I mean Mandie really needs to grow up!!!!!!!!! She is 13 or 14 years old and she still acts like a baby. That is pretty sad. I would still recommend this book to you because everyone has a different oppinion!

5.0 out of 5 stars tornado!, September 12, 2001
This review is from: Mandie and the Tornado! (Mandie, Book 34) (Mass Market Paperback)
It is summer in 1903. Mandie is returning home for summer vacation and she already has a mystery on her hands. Joining her is Joe who came home from college in New Orleans also for the summer. The two had a few advertures trying to figure out who was living in the old house on the edge of the Shaw property. However with much help from Liza, Aunt Lou, Abraham, and Uncle John the searches come to no avil. Then out of nowhere a tornado strikes and the debris is not the only thing left that will surprise Mandie and her friends.

This was another great Mandie book for kids. I can't wait for the next one. However a one year wait is way too long. Hopefully Mrs.Leppard will decide to write more Mandie books throughout the year for they are trully great books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mandie and the Tornado, July 28, 2001

This review is from: Mandie and the Tornado! (Mandie, Book 34) (Mass Market Paperback)
Hello! My name is Cecily Millen. This might sound firmiliar. If it does, its because Cecily Millen is a charactor in the latest Mandie book, Mandie and the Tornado. Ms.Leppard took part in an auction to have your name put in a book and I won it! I was very excited and couldn't wait for the book to come out. It is also dedicated to me! Thank you Ms.Leppard I feel very honored to be in your book!

Anyway, this book is great. Once again Mandie sniffs a mystery right as she returns home from Miss Heathwoods'. It seems a light has been strangely appearing everynight in an abandoned barn near the Shaw's property. With the help of Joe, and Celia, and sometimes Liza, not to mention a tornado that sends them for shelter in the secret tunnel, they figure out the mystery of the strange light. Read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Though I am 15, I love this book!, July 7, 2001

This review is from: Mandie and the Tornado! (Mandie, Book 34) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have heard that the Mandie books are written for ages 8 to 12 or something like that, I love them! And I am 15! I have read and I own every one of the Mandie books, and because I was so excited about "Mandie and the tornado" being published, I bought it the second I found it. I opened the book to start it and closed the book upon finishing it within hours. If you love the adventures of Mandie, whether you are young or old, this book will not disappoint you. Will Mandie ever find out the secret of the rundown house next to her uncle's property? With the help of her friends Joe and Celia, Mandie becomes involved in another mystery, with an unexpected ending! Why so unexpected? Well, I guess you are just going to have to read and find out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Book, November 23, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Mandie and the Tornado! (Mandie, Book 34) (Mass Market Paperback)
The reason for the lack in romance between Mandie and Joe is that the book is set in 1903 and it wouldn't be proper for them to start a relationship at their age.

This is a wonderful book and it really shows that Mandie is growing up. She is a very sweet girl. She is starting to solve mystery's in a more sensible way. The ending of this book is very supprising and overall this is a very well written book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Mandie book!, July 26, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Mandie and the Tornado! (Mandie, Book 34) (Mass Market Paperback)
When someone moves into the old house by Mandie's Uncle John's property, no one in town knows who it is, and no one has ever seen them come out. All people can see is a light that goes on at night. So, when Mandie hears about this, of course she has to solve the mystery...find out what happens!

5.0 out of 5 stars READ!!!READ!!!READ!!!, July 14, 2001

This review is from: Mandie and the Tornado! (Mandie, Book 34) (Mass Market Paperback)
I just read this book in 3 hours. Because I couldn't put it down! I have read every single Mandie book and love each and every one of them. This one is one of my absolute favorites (and that is out of 34). This book has Joe and Celia in it and they are all trying to figure out who is making the light in the torn down, little house just off of John Shaw's property. With the help of Liza, their maid, they sometimes sit out in the arbor and watch all day to see if anyone will come out. But a tornado cuts that short. But maybe the torando will help them in a way!

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful page-turner especially for young people, August 17, 2001
This review is from: Mandie and the Tornado! (Mandie, Book 34) (Mass Market Paperback)
Mandie And The Tornado! is the latest in one of the most beloved series for children. Mandie's search for her beloved cat Snowball leads to her discovery of a mysterious secret - someone is hiding out in an old, abandoned house. The compelling mystery of who is in hiding and why, combined with the coming of a dangerous storm, makes this story a delightful page-turner especially for young people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, August 28, 2003
This review is from: Mandie and the Tornado! (Mandie, Book 34) (Mass Market Paperback)
Mandie is finally home from school, and is eagerly waiting to investigate yet another mystery.
This one is quite different. The people at Mandie's house have been seeing strange lights in an old abandoned shack. Mr. Shaw has enlisted Mandie to find out.
Then when a fierce tornado sends Mandie and her friends scurrying to the secret tunnel for safety, Mandie uncovers one of her biggest surprises yet!

I was rather surprised with this book. The Mandie in all the other books did things on impulse, sneaking out to find things by herself. The Mandie in this book is rather quieted down, asking for permission to do stuff. Even though that's the way that she should be, the change was so sudden that I was taken back. Also, it isn't Mandie's character to be so compliant . I was glad that she isn't like that in all the books!
