Editorial Reviews

About the Author

Lois began her first Mandie story when she was only eleven years old. But eventually the manuscript was tucked away in a drawer and forgotten. Lois went on to attend Furman University and studied music for several years in New York City where she and her sister sang professionally. Some years ago, Lois was prompted to pull that old manuscript out and began to work on Mandie's story-of her childhood in the South at the turn of the century and her Cherokee heritage. The rest is history and now the MANDIE BOOKS series have sales nearing six million copies! Lois writes from her home in South Carolina. Enthusiastic young fans fill her mailbox with their insightful responses to her stories.

I really liked this book because it was filled with mystery from begining to end. Who is the girl in the picture? What two couple wrote the love letters to each other? What of diamonds? I can't tell you because you'll have to go read it and find out for yourself. It's a sequel to Mandie and the Forbidden Attic. So whoever loves that book should definitely read this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mandie and the Forbiden Attic, December 7, 2001

The reason I read this Mandie book was because her name was the same as mine, spelt the same and everything. But, When I read this book i felt like i was really apart of it. When Mandie meets April the discriptions the author uses makes you really hate her, even though she is not a real girl. When Mandie goes off to this school and has to meet all these new people it is scary. When she and Celia hear the noises in the attic you the author makes you want to go up in the attic too. But one reason i really like the books is Mandie's relation ship with God. the way she trust him really makes you relize it is all in his control. I told my friend about this book and she is hooked on Mandie books too. I guess this is really a review over all the Mandie books!
