Mandie and the Windmill's Message (Book 20),
By Elisabeth "Gymfan15" (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mandie and the Windmill's Message (Mandie, Book 20) (Mass Market Paperback)
Mandie, Celia, Jonathan, Mrs. Taft, and Senator Morton are touring Europe during the summer, and now they're in Holland. Mandie and her friends are fascinated with the windmills and Dutch culture. But the windmill near them is acting strangely. The panels are moving as if it was broadcasting some sort of code, and Mandie is convinced that something sinister is up. And she's not mistaken. Someone tampers with the paints at a china factory, and Mandie wonders if that is connected with the windmill. Or is it? This book is wonderful. The story line is good, and it had the right mixture of suspense and mystery to make it a truly amazing book.

A Wonderful Mandie Book!,

This review is from: Mandie and the Windmill's Message (Mandie, Book 20) (Mass Market Paperback)
A great book! Mandie is still traveling through Europe with Grandmother Taft, Senator Morton, Celia & Jonathan. They are renting a house in Holland, and Mandie finds a mystery, as usual. This time it involves a neighbors' windmill, a trip to the Delftweare factory, and Mandie's endless jumping to conclusions. This time Mandie gets herself into a predicment involving Snowball climbing on Windmill Blades.... Thankfully, good old, dependeble Uncle Ned shows up to save Papoose. The conclusion is an unusual one, and the book will keep you guessing 'till the end!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Mandie and the Windmill's Message (Mandie, Book 20) (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this book! Mandie, Celia, one of her best friends, and Jonathan find a new mystery in Holland. Mandie and her friends find something very interesting about the windmill. The windmill seems to give off weird messages throughout the day. Could this be just a harmless prank or is someone really in trouble? Then there is the mystery about the blue paint turning to green. Could Jonathon be part of it? Mandie meets new people including the miller's son, who seems to like Mandie. But when Mandie and her friends ask the miller about the weird signs on the windmill, he storms out of the room! What could all of this mean? Read to find out! I'm sure you'll enjoy this book! :) :)

Mandie and the Windmill's Message,

This review is from: Mandie and the Windmill's Message (Mandie, Book 20) (Mass Market Paperback)
I love the Mandie books and this is a great book. In this early 20th century mystery, Mandie is in Holland with her Grandmother, and Mandie's best friend. Someone seems set on destroying the Delftware porcelain factory where they see blue paint used on the dishes turning green when somebody sabotages the mixture. And Mandie notices the windmill blades are in the wrong position at a windmill near the house where they are staying. You are always wondering how Mandie will unravel the mystery while the clues appear during this great adventure in Holland.

This is one book in a series of books that I was fascinated with as an older child/pre-teen. Now my daughter is enjoying them as much as I did...these books provide a welcome relief from the incomprehensible examples displayed on tv and have increased my daughter's interest in reading beyond what i believed was possible. I highly recommend this series.

Danger is warning Mandie the Ranger,

This review is from: Mandie and the Windmill's Message (Mandie, Book 20) (Mass Market Paperback)
"Mandie and the Windmill's Message" is a good book. In it Mandie, Celia, Mandie's best friend, and Jonathan Lindall Guyer the Third are still traveling with Mandie's Grandmother Taft and Senator Morton. Moving on from Belgium to Holland, Mandie has uncovered a mystery. The mysterious windmills have changed signals, and no one can figure it out. Even worse, Jonathan has been accused of a crime. Can Mandie prove that he is innocent? Or will Jonathan be doomed? Read the book to find out what happens! I like the Mandie books a lot, but there is a problem. They're long, and I'm just seven years old!
