The Armstrong Twins were an Arkansas born brother duet who gained minor fame in the late 1940s and 1950s. Their vocal style is close to the more famous Louvin and Delmore brothers and their playing shows a boogie influence from the Delmores. There are some hot mandolin pieces here and some very nice singing. The first 10 songs are from their 1949 sessions and the rest are from later recordings on Arhoolie. Especially nice is their rendition of "Why Not Confess."
