I got hold of this Mandukyakarika (translated from Sanskrit and commented by Raphael, an advaita master living in italy) some years ago. Reading it (at that time) made me desperate -> I just couldn't grasp it.
There are other Raphael-books, that are easier to access like "At the Source of Life" or "Beyond the Illusion of the Ego". Meanwhile (after having read such other Raphael-books) I've returned to the Mandukyakarika. And discovered now (to my surprise): it is a wonder-full book, that touches me, which transforms. Again and again -while reading it -there is a "click" deep inside, a kind of "aha". As soon as I (my mind) wants to put that in words, it's un-graspable. And IS/ has its effect nevertheless! |
