What A Voice!,

This review is from: Mandy Barnett (Audio CD)
Mandy is one of the best singers in the business today, from country to rock. She could probably sing the telephone book! She gives us here the most wonderful ballads ranging from sexy to country. Yes, Planet of Love is cool, but A Simple I Love You is so touching, so beautifully sung, it almost makes me cry and how many songs can do that? BTW, I like the songs on this CD much better than the songs on her second CD which are more country twangy. Can't wait to hear her next CD!

what a mesmerizing voice,

A couple of years ago, I caught the tail end of the video of "Now thats all right with me" on CMT. Ten seconds of her voice, and I was scrambling for a piece of paper to write down her name so I could track down this CD. Every time I play this CD, I find a stop whatever I'm doing and just close my eyes and listen when she sings that song. Unbelievable.

Mandy Barnett outsings 99% of current country ladies,

I LOVE THIS SINGER! Her vocal ability and talent for evoking terrific feelings are remarkable, right up there with K.D. Lang and Patsy Cline and Shania Twain. I've already gifted 3 friends with this CD because they love it so much. Sexy or sad or traditional ballads -- she does it all, without the musical production cliches. The more I listen to the CD, the more I appreciate it. I am eagerly awaiting her next effort.

A voice to make you melt!,
By music lover "The Music Authority" (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews

For such a young singer, she has the voice, the power and the control. k.d. lang gave a hint of torch and twang in her earlier years, but Mandy brings it on and keeps it there. Her resemblance to Patsy Cline is unnerving, but only a taste of what tehre is to know about Mandy!

Great Voice - Fair Arrangements,

If you bought "Right to Cry", and want more of the same, this might not be your solution. Like many first-releases, this one suffers from boilerplate arrangements. Too bad, because Mandy's stunning voice is too often beaten down by the background. You might want to wait for Mandy's next release.

Mandy's first CD is perfect.,

Mandy released her first CD in 1996. It is great. I fell in love with her voice and I hope you enjoy her singing on this CD. It is money well spent to here such a perfect voice. I hope she branches out from country to sing other types of music. Like Jazz, soft rock, blues, and popular.

LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR HER NEXT ONE!!!,

This review is from: Mandy Barnett (Audio CD)
This is the best debut album I have heard in quite some time! I am an aspiring singer and this is the kind of album I would love to make; country with a good dose of blusey tears thrown in! I often sing "Planet OF Love," and I almost always get a great reaction (which I love). However, this also gives me a chance to (no pun intended) sing the praises of Mandy Barnett! Every song on this album is awesome, from the uptempo "Now That's Alright With Me," to the haunting "Wayfaring Stranger." If you love country, blues, heck, if you just enjoy FEELING the music, then this album is a must have. The only thing I can't believe is why isn't Mandy Barnett enjoying the same level of popularity as Lean Rimes, Dixie Chicks, et al. (Not to take anything away from the other artists, but let's get serious!)

Good Morning Mandy,

I recently saw an interview of Mandy on the CBS Sunday Morning show. Loved her "Patsy Cline" styling. What a voice! Just bought her latest release at the store, but they did not have this one and I needed it to complete the collection. Hope to hear more from her.HK

Mandy Barnett has been around Nashville for a few years, starring in a Patsy Cline show prior to recording this disc. WOW!! The album is loaded with good songs that are matched with TERRIFIC vocal performances. "Planet of Love" will blow you away but the entire disc signals the introduction of a MAJOR new talent!

Better than Patsy Cline?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Mandy Barnett (Audio CD)
Why that would be sacrilege! I do alot of D.J. gigs and everytime I play track 1 of this CD I get at least 4 or 5 people coming up to me to ask me who this is."Planet of Love" is the most sensuous swinging seductive song I have ever heard. It alone commands purchase of this CD. Yet every track after that just backs it up. WOW!
