It's funny how the best things on earth often started out with another purpose in mind. Obviously horses benifited from this item before people did.
It is very gentle. It leaves your hair smooth, soft, clean, managable and it smells great.

(Don't forget to alternate shampoo products as needed for best results.)

I have naturally curly, dry, coarse, LONG hair that I've been color-treating for a decade. Seriously, most horses have nicer manes and tails than I have hair. I have tried everything from cheap fortifying shampoos to expensive salon brands, and this. is. the. stuff. Seriously, my hair has NEVER felt this good, even before I started coloring.

You need to be aware that you pretty much HAVE to condition after using this shampoo. I was afraid the first time I used it because my hair felt so incredibly coarse and tangled. I soon realized why -- it was the first time in years that a shampoo had removed deposits from my hair rather than leaving them behind, exposing more of that coarse texture. My hair was actually CLEAN. Really, really clean. It's done nothing to dull my color, and even though the shampoo is extremely thick, it lathers extremely well.

I cannot recommend this shampoo enough, when paired with the conditioner. This is coming from someone with hair that has been impossible to get to look nice because of the curly/dry/coarse/long/frizzy combination. My hair is CLEAN, stronger, my split ends are GONE... I am never going back to those expensive salon brands! You can buy four 32 oz. bottles of Mane 'n Tail for the price of one much smaller bottle of expensive salon stuff, and it probably works four times as well!

This shampoo truly is the best I've ever used. No other brands even come close to how this makes my hair look, feel and move. It leaves hair clean without the striping of natural oils, so it's bouncy and shiny. Great shampoo, best ever, wish I would've found it a long time ago. I'll never use another brand again.

I use Mane n Tail shampoo and conditioner on my head and beard. I also perform the "dry application" after I towel off. My beard has never been softer! You can get a quarter-gallon for like five dollars! I love you, Mane n Tail!

I bought this on a whim yesterday when I remembered I was out of my old Shampoo. After having heard some good reviews I decided to give mane n' tail a try--and I've only used it once, and my hair feels so light and fluffy and clean! It's not weighed down with anything, which has always been the case with every other shampoo/conditioner set I've used, from Garnier Fructis to Herbal Essences to John Frieda. When it said on the bottle that you should see a difference in your hair after one use I most certainly did not expect it to be true. This is a great product for a great price. If you value your hair, you'll buy this!

This is truly the best shampoo I've ever used. I wish I would have known of this shampoo before because it doesn't dry out the hair like the others do. My hair stays soft, shiny. No dryness and flyaway hair at all. The ends stay soft too, so my hair curls nicely and bounces like it never did before when I began to use this about six months ago. Since it doesn't dry out my hair I have less breakage.

I love this shampoo! I have used every single shampoo on the market and never heard of this one until recently, 2008. I found it by accident, on a "How To" website, on "How to Grow Long Hair."
This shampoo is different from any other that I've ever used because it doesn't strip the hair. Your hair gets moisture, so there is no breakage or brittleness. Once it's dried, (and best to do it naturally), it's full and bouncy with really extra body, more then I've ever had before. There is no frizziness at all, smooth, soft and lustrous. I wish I would've found this product years ago. I'm really truly very happy and pleased with this product. Phooey on the big named brands, Mane n Tail is now my number one favorite!

I love this shampoo. Due to hormone issues, my hair was fine, started losing it, and my hair took so long to grow 1 cm. I used for 4 wks and it grew almost 1 inch and is healthier. I got the shine back in my hair and it's thicker. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. I have been trying so hard to get my fix my hair. I mean it's been years and I can't find anything. I used oils and other stuff, but it was not working and I just gave up. When my friend and I decided to try this shampoo, we were checking out and the cashier asked if it was for us or our horses. After telling her it's for us, she said it works great, her and her sisters all used it when they were younger and with long hair.

This is the BEST dog shampoo for my large Labradoodle I have ever used. Great product, leaves coat soft and smells great.

This Shampoo has done nothing but wonders for my hair. Moved to Germany and I was having a hard time finding products that didn't make my hair feel course, rough, and frizzy. This product along with a few others has brought my hair back to its normal state which is soft, wavy, and full of shine! The company shipped this product super quick considering the long distance it had to travel.
