My wife picked this out. Maneater is probably better and more intricate than most romantic comedies out there. The plot seems very forced - the main couple gets married before you even get to know them. However, at almost 3 hours long, the plot really does get enough twists and turns to make it entertaining. It also manages to develop the characters a bit more realistically. Recommended for anybody who likes chick flicks or romantic comedies.

The female lead in this movie is Sarah Chalke. I am becoming a real fan of this extremely talented actress. Ms Alonzo plays her mother and turns in a good performance also. This is a cute story but it is also a little realer than most romantic comedies. These characters have real flaws and that makes them far more human. I liked it.

I first read the book this is based on (which i love) and just happened to see this on tv, and watched it. I really love how they adapted it, and i love sarah chalke (loved her on scrubs). The story is really good. It seems really superficial and generic at first, but a little way down the road it gets more complicated and very interesting. Definitely worth the time to watch it. Also, if you enjoy the movie, i definitely recommend the book.

This is a typical movie for minorities and women. But it does reveal one universal truth. Men marry women thinking they will stay the same but they don't and women marry guys thinking they can change them and they don't.
