Only Average,
By Joseph Reader (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Manet (Masters of Art) (Hardcover)
This book is only average, at least as far as reproduction of the artist's paintings is concerned. Too many of the paintings are reproduced in black & white, and those in color do not look quite right--the colors (and depth of color) aren't as beautiful as they appear in some other books. If you are looking only for a general sense of Manet's work, this book might be fine for you, but you will not be getting the full sense of his works' beauty.
