I love this tripod, I have two of them. They are well made and rock solid. They are not for the casual user though. All of my friends claim that its just too heavy, even those with video cameras. I use a padded shoulder strap to move around with it. They are very happy to use it though and always remark as to how nice it is to work with, as long as I schlep it around. If you chose your camera gear based on preformance this is the tripod for you. If your camera gear is small, cute, or lite, you probably don't want one of these anyway. For long exposures, big glass, and even some of the VHS camcorders this one will fill the bill. You can also get a varity of heads for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this tripod, May 12, 2007

This is the perfect tripod for versitility. I can remove the center column and use it sideways for macro shots. It is cheaper than other professional tripods and the perfect upgrade from the cheap tripods you get for free with purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Professional Tripod, May 6, 2010
This review is from: Manfrotto 3021PRO Professional Tripod without Head (Silver) (Electronics)
I have had a black 3021pro tripod for 6 years. I chose it because of its rock solid construction. I can adjust the legs to any configuration I want, even some that look a bit odd. As a nature photographer this has proven to be a VERY important attribute. The point is this tripod is very heavy duty and will hold anything I put on it, even a Canon 1D Mark III with a 600mm f/2.8 lense that makes for a heavy combination. I don't see myself replacing it anytime soon.
