The shoulder strap works great. I put it on my tripod the first day I got it and I haven't taken it off since. I don't really need it if I am using a full blown equipment back pack because it has a tripod carrier, but if you are going to use the back packs carrier, this doesn't interfere and there is no reason to remove it. On those days when you just want to take a few lenses in a hand bag though this shoulder sling is just the trick for your tripod.

A thought this was a bit bulky. Literature says you can leave strap on the tripod when yo are using the tripod and you can, but if you do not extend the tripod to full height the strap has a tendency to interfer with the center column, not a real big deal, but if are shooting a subject that is lower to the ground or sitting in a low chair the strap does get in the way slightly. I also purchased the Op-Tech strap and I have to say the Op-Tech strap balances the tripod better when carrying and is not as bulky as the Manfrotto strap. If you hike long distances with your tripod the Manfrotto is a good choice, if you carry your tripod in and out of your photo shoots I would suggest the Op-Tech for it's balance and smaller size. Both straps are high quality and appears they both will give years of trouble free use.

Excellent product, works just as I hoped. Easy to attach to tripod, easy to use tripod with the strap attached, easy to to get going and carry tripod anywhere.

Can recommend it without any hesitation.
