5.0 out of 5 stars great skin tone colors, October 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Manga Skin Kit - Copic Ciao Set (8 Marker + 1 Multiliner Pen)
I just discovered the Copic Ciao series markers a few weeks ago. I have hesitated to purchase the regular markers because they are so expensive, and only bought the ones that I needed and limited it to 3 or 4 over about the last 5 years. These markers are a great price and have the same great ink and tips as the Sketch markers. Instead of the larger oval shaped barrel, they have a round one which is fine with me. Replacement tips and inks are available from the same seller. They are sold for Manga artists but are great for any kind of project that involves coloring (I use them for rubber stamped greeting cards).

This particular set has great skin tone colors. They are very light colors, except for the brown marker. The fine point Multiliner Pen is great for making line drawings (or as I use it, to fill in areas that did not stamp well). Don't be concerned if the color looks a little "off" when first applied, it changes to the color of the cap as it dries. The lighter colors are very similar in hue, but just different enough to shade facial areas well. My only problem has been that none of them are a good color for a teddy bear so I will need to keep searching for for a warm light brown color that won't cover up the ink lines. LOL

And warning number 2: this is a solvent based ink so it dissolves and smears other inks easily. I try to remember to heat set my stamped images even when they are stamped with a "permanent" ink, and color very lightly when I get near the inked lines. I think the Multiliner pen is included for drawing the image because it resists the solvent in the markers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for any artist, January 8, 2010

These markers are of high quality and are quite durable. The colors are vibrant and are perfect for skintones. They hardly bleed through thin paper and the color does not fade. These are perfect for any level of artist and are well worth the price.

The different shades of skin color in these markers are perfect for your manga! I've never been able to find markers that were skin-color, so you can imagine how excited I was when I found this set! Perfect for manga artists! :3

5.0 out of 5 stars Just wow!!!, February 28, 2011

I had never really thought about buying markers for drawing. Usually I used to make do with the stray sharpie here or there or maybe some crayola colored pencils. But this! THIS is definitely no sharpie marker set. It is definitely a nice set to have, especially since these are all skin colors!!! I drew something really quick with them and it definitely came out better than expected. You don't even really have to know how to draw manga characters. Just coloring anything with these markers makes it seem better than it really is. Not that its a bad thing. Its a really good thing!

I love these markers! I sketch and paint a lot, but I hardly ever color with markers. A friend recommended these to me and I cannot stop drawing with them. They are wonderful!

I bought the extra large set of Copic markers for my daughter about five years ago. She does a lot of anime drawings. Those markers are still alive and kicking out beautiful pictures. I had to get her some more skin tones because she draws a lot of characters. The rest of the colors are still good and putting out ink. These are great markers for her and I suppose for anyone who draws a lot.

Packaging:

Well, the same may not be the case for everyone lol but I found out I actually live pretty close to the main "HQ" of Otaku Fuel... anyways, product was wrapped perfectly, good box, good packaging... yeah it was pretty much as close to perfect as you can get when ordering stuff online :)

Will look forward to purchasing from this seller again in the future :D

Markers:

Copics, skin color (yay ^0^) well...they're markers and they work really well...what else can I say? lol

The most expensive markers I've ever bought (27 dollars is expensive?) but they were really worth it in the end :)

Ooooh and for the otakus who like japanese stuff, the markers have japanese letters on them!! XD

Oh and good for coloring mangas too :3
