5.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad deck at all
Good points about this deck:

-unlike some decks, the book that comes with the cards is very helpful with its definations and gives clear info on the spreads, not to mention it gives you 2 or 3 others besides the traditional celtic cross

-manga fans who are familiar with CardCaptor Sakura will notice the style design of the cards looks very...

2.0 out of 5 stars Selena Lin's Tarot.... ok? where?
I was highly dissapointed with Selena Lin's Tarot Deck. ONLY the Major Arcana and the Royalty cards are pictured in a Manga style, All of the Minor arcana cards were nothing but the number of pentalces, wands, swords, cups that needed to be represented.

Although the Major arcana was great looking, it makes it so much more dissapointing that the minor was...

4.0 out of 5 stars A surprising deck, January 19, 2007
This review is from: The Manga Tarot (Cards)
I freely admit, I picked this deck up as a lark. I was quite ready to just toss it into my bin of "novelty" decks after toying with it- a place where sadly a good many current decks belong.

Suffice to say I was very surprised. Though the art is hardly traditional to tarot and it follows the old, pre-Rider-Waite/Crowley method of having the minor arcana as solely pip cards: the deck is actually quite lovely (if you like shoujo manga) and accurately done. The narrow cards are easy to handle, the images of the major arcana and court cards fitting of their meanings.

The book itself is a bit lacking in usefulness if you are a beginner- it tends to sugarcoat the meanings. However, this deck follows perfectly the Rider-Waite set up- so if you are familiar with that deck and simply want something unusual and colorful to read in its stead: this certainly qualifies.

-manga fans who are familiar with CardCaptor Sakura will notice the style design of the cards looks very similar to the ones Sakura uses in the anime but not quite the same and the images of the people are very much different

Bad Points about this deck:

-while it's beautiful to view, if you're serious about learning tarot and know zilch about it, start with a rider-waite deck because the minor arcana will be difficult to read. The suits themselves(swords, cups, wands and pentacles) are in the cards and nothing else.

Neutral Info:

Most decks are a bit longer than wider in shape. This deck in particular is actually more "long and lean" but it shouldnt make too much of a difference in handling them when shuffling the cards.

I love this deck. It really connected with me and I really enjoy the feel of the cards. They are smaller then regular cards, but the graphics are beautiful. If you feel a connection to this deck I suggest you act on it...

Although the Major arcana was great looking, it makes it so much more dissapointing that the minor was given such a light treatment. Such a Bummer that most asian decks are similar to this one.

You may want to go with the LS Manga Tarot, even though it has alot of samuri related images, the deck incorporates more pictures and meanings into the deck.

Where as selena's is hard to read unless you are a studied reader. You can use the deck, at least the Majors for an oracle...

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect For The Otaku Witch, April 24, 2008
This review is from: The Manga Tarot (Cards)
So, this deck "called" to me. I'm Wiccan and a major otaku, so these were perfect. My friends are scared at how accurate they've been. It's been 1/15 wrong so far for me.
I recommend this if you want to have a different deck than others, and love manga. Everything is in manga style, major and minor. The colors are bold and the box is handy. Defiantly a keeper for me.
