Book Description

In this first book in the Mango Bob series, Walker has just lost his job, his wife has filed for divorce, and he’s living in a tent down by the river.

Being ever resourceful, Walker swaps his truck for a motorhome (aka ‘the Love Bus’), and agrees to drive it cross-country to sleepy Englewood Florida so he can deliver a cat named Mango Bob to a woman he's never met.

Should be easy, right? Drive to Florida, hand over the cat, and then hang out on the beach.

Except there’s an unsolved murder involving the Love Bus, the Mexican mafia, and a half million in missing gold coins.

Add to the mix a trigger happy grandma, a team of bungling burglars, the hot chick with the kayak, the repo man, and you get a rollicking travel romp through the Sunshine State.

A fun and fast read!

5.0 out of 5 stars A good yarn May 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
John Walker's story unfolds in a sequence of believable events. You feel you're on the road as Walker learns the details about RV travel. There is suspense, a touch of mystery, or a smidgen of romance at every stop. The lovable Mango Bob is a cat with attitude and no tail, the perfect companion for an unexpected and eventful trip to Florida.

Mango Bob is an easy, enjoyable read. No bad words or steamy sex here, it's just a good yarn filled with interesting characters. You can share this book with anyone in the family.

You'll finish looking forward to the next Mango Bob adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! May 4, 2012

Really excellent read! Here's my suggestion: read Bill's nonfiction fook about motorhomes (http://www.amazon.com/Buying-Used-Motorhome-burned-ebook/dp/B007OV4TBY/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1336169916&sr=1-1) first, and you'll enjoy the book even more!
I started reading this on a plane trip from Seattle to Denver, and couldn't put it down. I can't WAIT for the sequel!

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring...... June 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
After reading the description of the book I was really looking forward to reading this. It sounded quirky and fun and I was in the mood for some light reading. Unfortunately, I only made it through 40% of the book before I gave up, and I have to tell you, I don't often leave books that I've started. Mango Bob is the title of the book and therefore, I expected him to be introduced pretty quickly in the story but at 40% through, I hadn't even met him yet. The main character is boring and basically shrugs off his wife unexpectedly serving him with divorce papers. He goes from having a wife and home that morning to living in tent and alone that evening without any kind of emotion. I felt no connection to this wooden character. When he gets the "Love Bus" I thought things might begin to pick up, but, no. At this point it seems to turn into an RV manual, when he is tutored on his RV by a new friend. There is waaay too much unnecessary description about the RV that lends nothing to the story. The plot then introduces a totally predictable "break in" which will leave nobody guessing. It was shortly after this that I just gave up, I couldn't do it. I could not continue to throw away a beautiful summer day and went for a walk instead. I suggest to anybody reading this, do not waste a moment of your day on this, choose another book, or go for walk, do something fun, but do not waste your time on this!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, very light
My only complaint was just too, too much repetition. The subject of the last paragraph of a chapter was frequently repeated in the first paragraph of the next.
