Book Description

John Walker — recently divorced and living in a motorhome near the beach in Florida — seems to be on a lucky streak. No
matter what he does, he comes out a winner. He's won the lottery, found a pot of gold, and met the perfect woman.

But things are rarely as they seem, and Walker's good luck comes with a few complications. His perfect woman 'needs some space,' and suggests he take a vacation on the other side of the state - without her. So Walker packs up his motorhome, aka 'The Love Bus', and heads over to Florida's Treasure Coast, to camp out and search for long lost gold from the Spanish Fleet wreck of 1715.

Along for the ride is Mango Bob (the cat with no tail). The unlikely pair head out for a treasure hunting adventure, and are soon caught up in a deadly storm that brings with it a gun-toting mystery woman whose secrets could change Walker's life forever. Helping Walker dig his way out of trouble is Jake the Wonder Dog, who has a nose for gold and a habit of befriending eccentric characters.

Will Walker find treasure? Does Mango Bob survive the trip? What is the mystery woman's real reason for latching onto the Love Bus? Can Jake the Wonder Dog lead Walker to gold, or something even more valuable? All the answers are revealed in this rollicking adventure set in the Sunshine State.

Mango Lucky is the second book in the Mango Bob adventure series, set in the Sunshine State and featuring John Walker, Mango Bob, and the Love Bus. (Note: no graphic violence, no explicit sex, just a fun story with likeable characters. You'll be glad you read it.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great read in the series September 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
At the suggestion of a friend, Walker (along with his friend's cat, Mango Bob) points his RV in the direction of the Treasure Coast of East Florida to try his hand at metal detecting. He makes new friends in the middle of a major storm and is quickly dubbed a lucky charm. Once again, major life changes seem to be in store for him. I enjoyed watching the development of Walker's new friendships. He seems like such a nice, stand-up kind of guy. I like how nothing really ever seems to phase him in his adventures. And, I love how he takes such good care of Bob. Mr. Myers' writing style is quite lovely. I had a difficult time putting the book down. Seriously, though, my friends are going to think I've gone soft for giving not one but two books in a series five stars! But, this book is totally deserving of those five stars. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mango Fun September 6, 2012
A Kid's Review
Format:Kindle Edition
I found the book fun to read. It was intertaining and funny. I laughed alot through the reading. You got to remember that Mango Bob is just a side charactor and the real story is the adventures of this very laid back man who seems to just let life find him and he follows. Loved the old lady with the gun, that was a hoot.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mango Lucky December 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The writing is not spectacular, and the "coincidences" are not too credible, but the story is pleasant, and I did enjoy the book. A very easy read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lucky to read November 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Absolutely fun reading. Easy, light, and lots of laughs. This style of writing is a very pleasant relief from the drudgery of novels that strain every part of ones being. Just stretch back, relax, have a beer, and your day will be an enjoyable experience. Thanks to Amazon's heads-up notices, I can watch for more of these wonderful books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another fun story by Bill Myers February 8, 2013
By RickB

I've thoroughly enjoyed both of the Mango Bob books I've read. The story's are compelling and funny. Engaging characters and accurate settings. A great, quick read. I only wish there were more stories and that they were longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining read November 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I had read Mango Bob awhile ago and enjoyed it, so I knew I would like this one. Walker is very lucky, as people in the story say he is. And finding the buried treasure on the beach was so awesome. I really enjoyed this book and hope he writes another one about when Walker moves back to Englewood. It was so nice to read a story that didn't have any violence in it. Well, maybe just a bit, but he didn't dwell on it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Kind of "Meh" March 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read the entire series. The books follow a protagonist I can only assume represents the life the author wishes he lived. It is about a man, a cat and an RV. I read the series thinking "it has to get better". I doesn't have to and it doesn't. The story line is thin and the foreshadowing is even thinner. If you are looking for an inexpensive quick read, you might give it a try, but I would probably not read any more in the series, even if they were free.

3.0 out of 5 stars Light and mildly entertaining May 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Tedious narrative, explaining the smallest of details over and over again. Characters are likeable and could develop depth, but the author does not go there, preferring instead to give details that are irrelevant to the story. There is the opportunity (and some promise) of giving true mystery to the story, but it never materializes. A light read for the "throne room."

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read for an afternoon of relaxation.
A quick read full of local landmarks that help make it visually appealing. A wholesome happy story with a little mystery is great to find in today's world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable read.
This second in the series was as good as the first. I like the focus of good things happening for good people. Much too little of that in today's world.
