if you are an immigrant in the u.s. then you will enjoy and identify with this movie. if you were born in the u.s. and do not understand immigrants or about immigration watch this movie and this will be an eye-opener for you. the dances here are latino and not specifically about merengue alone so you will also enjoy the dance sequences here. another movie recommended about immigration is entitled "debut" and another movie done by cheech and chong which title i forgot but you can search it on the internet which i highly recommend.

Manhathan Merregue, es una de estas peliculas que uno quiere tener en la colecion de dvds. Tiene un poco parecido a la pelicula "Salsa" con Robie Dracco Rosa, y la pelicula "Dance with me" con Chayane y Vanessa Williams, pero con un poco de todo.

Manhathan merregue, is a movie that you want to have in your dvds collection. This movie has the look, like the movies 'Dance with me " with Chayane and Vanessa Williams, and "Salsa" with Robie Dracco Rosa. This movie have a little of everything.

This is fun to watch, and captures some of the problems Latinos face in America. NICE dancing!
