5.0 out of 5 stars Key energy issues we all should understand, now made clear.
Jeff has really narrowed down the key energy issues that face our nation today. He has real data to support what we really need to know about renewable sources of energy. Jeff has a simple way of presenting perspective on a fairly complex energy issue we all sense is looming in our future.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst
Manhattan Project 2009 is now my trash can. I research energy issues for my website [...] and was VERY disappointed in this book. It is way too short for the money with many blank pages. How can a book with this title fail to discuss nuclear, natural gas and coal as energy sources? The author claims Denmark gets 20% of its power from electricity. Anyone with the least...

5.0 out of 5 stars Key energy issues we all should understand, now made clear., September 30, 2008
This review is from: The Manhattan Project of 2009: Energy Independence NOW (Paperback)
Jeff has really narrowed down the key energy issues that face our nation today. He has real data to support what we really need to know about renewable sources of energy. Jeff has a simple way of presenting perspective on a fairly complex energy issue we all sense is looming in our future.
His analysis of the benefits and risks associated with the different alternatives available is easy to understand and insightful beyond anything I've read about alternative energy issues. This book is an easy read that allows you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the energy issue from several different angles.
It is so refreshing to read an intelligent documentary of the energy solutions from an unbiased source whose motivation comes from educating the public and not some other self-serving cause. This is a must read for anyone interested in making an educated decision about how to spend our vital few dollars on new alternative energy sources.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thought Provoking Guide For U.S. Energy Independence, November 13, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Manhattan Project of 2009: Energy Independence NOW (Paperback)
Jeff Wilson offers a wonderful guide which outlines simple steps the U.S. can take to end our oil addiction. The book is concise and easy to read. Even a politician could understand it, which is why I think it should be required reading for all elected officials.

Energy prices are falling because of the global economic meltdown, but that doesn't change the dynamics of the long-term global energy crisis. Our freedom and our future standard of living are at stake. Wilson offers compelling solutions that are well within our reach.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very informative!, November 11, 2008

This review is from: The Manhattan Project of 2009: Energy Independence NOW (Paperback)
This book was recommended to me by 3 people in one weeks time! I thought I was well educated on the subject of energy independence and well versed on solar energy, wind energy, bio fuels, and oil etc. I was amazed at how interesting and educational this book is. I think I will send President Elect Obama an inauguration present...this book! Wilson is definitely a top notch researcher and his math and engineering background is evident as this book is very factual and backed up with hard data. Every aspect of oil, where we get it, as well as it's depletion. If you think this last year was hard on us it is nothing compared to what the future holds. I had no clue that we were using oil at twice the rate new oil is being discovered and that all the easy to drill oil is pretty much depleted already. He walks you through each aspect of our addiction to foreign oil, each alternative source of energy and their practical use and hard data on to what extent each would replace fossil fuel. This book includes step by step plans that would be needed for congress to implement The Manhattan Project of 2009. You will be hearing a lot about this book and this author in the near future for sure.

The Manhattan Project of 2009 was a very interesting book! I would recommend it highly to everyone. The author did a fantastic job of researching and writing in a fashion that was totally captivating. Very unique, well worth the money! Once I picked up this book I didn't want to put it down. When I was finished I wanted everyone I know to read this book. This book is full of information that we as a nation need to get out there and act on. This book comes complete with a plan to wean America off oil. That is what our nation needs...a plan! Kudos Jeff Wilson!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read for anyone serious about energy independence, February 14, 2009
This review is from: The Manhattan Project of 2009: Energy Independence NOW (Paperback)
My reason for reading was two fold. #1 I wanted to have a better understanding of our current situation regarding all forms of energy. #2 I wanted to know what ideas are "out there" to help my own creative thought process on resolving a serious issue which is how to get away from foreign oil as a main source of energy while aiding this country in seizing an enormous opportunity for our present and future generations. Before reading this, I was worried the language and terminology would be way over my head (average Joe). However, to my surprise I feel that most of the information/examples given by the author are presented in a way that anyone should be able to grasp.

The author isn't saying that one form of alternative energy's better than the others, nor is he trying to sell you on any ideas. what makes this book worthwhile is that the author was willing to throw anything and everything as long as its more efficient, sustainable, and economical (from an overall point of view) at the issue of energy independence. I think this book does the reader a service by spelling out how we got where we are today, what is out there now and how can we use it, and what should/could be develop in the future.

You might not like one or all of his ideas, but the main point of while energy independence isn't easy, it is very doable and if we don't take the opportunity now/soon then the costs to implement such changes will dwarf anything that we should have spent in the first place.

In conclusion, good book, easy to read, easy to understand, and NOT doom and gloom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this book; it is all meat and no fluff, November 16, 2008
This review is from: The Manhattan Project of 2009: Energy Independence NOW (Paperback)
Those who prefer to see what they believe instead of believing what they see shall diss this book.
For those who have studied the topic of energy, this book is an excellent wrap-up of the current situation and propose realistic solutions. However, said solutions have nothing to do with a quick "press this button please" and everything will be sunny and rosy forever after.

An excellent primer to this book as well as a big picture context introduction to this book can be watch at [..] (no affiliation with this site). In particular, chapter 17 of the presentation is a must see.

5.0 out of 5 stars One Really Great Book!, February 27, 2009
This review is from: The Manhattan Project of 2009: Energy Independence NOW (Paperback)
I enjoyed reading this book and really appreciate the research and effort the author put into this book. It is beyond insightful, well written, easy to read, when you are done you will have a new understanding of our energy issues and alternatives. Each is precisely detailed. When you get done with this book your understanding will be so clear you will wonder 2 things. First why a book like this has not been written before now. Second, why our nation has taken so long to realize the importance of becoming energy independent.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK NAILS IT!, February 23, 2009
This review is from: The Manhattan Project of 2009: Energy Independence NOW (Paperback)
I found this book to be captivating, factual and very positive. Jeff Wilson has a sincere interest seeing our nation free itself from it's bondage to foreign oil. The whole time I was reading this book I was thinking this would make one kick butt movie. The visual would be astounding. Seeing the plan in action from start to finish and a view of our nation say 20-40 yrs from now with this plan and without. Its effect would indubitably provoke a profound awareness of what looms in the not too distant future and the outcomes of our decisions of how to deal with each issue.

This book was unpredictably extraordinarily thought provoking. Outstanding book! Jeff Wilson nailed it, this book rocks!
