Editorial Reviews

Bridging the channel between smooth jazz and hip-bop/acid jazz are Down to the Bone, a band that mixes live horns with grooves and beats and comes up with something classy smooth. Down to the Bone are more about the dance floor than the listening room, but they do spice the mix with some up-front horn charts and often use interesting instrumentation (is that an oboe?) to keep things moving. --S. 5.0 out of 5 stars One of a Kind Music!!!!!!!!!!!!, March 23, 1999
By A Customer
I just purchased Done to the Bone's Cd yesterday based on the reviews. The first selection "Staten Island Groove" is one of the best acid jazz tunes ever. Also the popular "Brooklyn Heights" is still outstanding. This CD is unlike most because every single song is great...and will keep you grooving without letting you down. Another great song is "17 mile drive", with it's incredible introduction. With sixty-four minutes of music well worth the price. One word of caution this Cd shakes the whole house from top to bottom, even on low volume everything seems to vibrate. THIS IS A GREAT DANCE PARTY CD!!! Enough said-A ++

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely GREAT!!!!, December 7, 2001

After hearing it on the radio, I originally bought this cd for the song "Brooklyn Heights", which is as good as I expected. I also have grown quite fond of "Staten Island Groove" but, "17 Mile Drive" has ABSOLUTELY become my most favorite. I listen to this cd continuously at work! I know some comments have been made about length of the songs but when sitting at your desk in front of a computer it goes by rather quickly. "On The Corner Of Darcy Street" is also another good one. Most of these songs have some really nice jazz beat to it like "Carlito's Way". I'll be, looks like I like the whole cd, I guess you better get a copy for yourself, you won't be sorry because this music grows on you really quick!
