I bought this for my nephew's first Christmas, and it is a favorite toy! This is a wonderful toy - simple and sweet, but with the most amazing feature! When an animal is dropped through the top of the tent, it makes it's sound - the lion roars, the monkey chatters, etc. When an animal is taken out through the front door of the tent, the tent says it's name, such as 'lion' or 'monkey'. The tent is very sturdy and the animals are soft and just the right size for little hands. Highly recommended.

She is 1 year old and loves to put things in/take them out. I love that it tells you what the animal is and makes the sound. The only downside is that I have to turn it on for her, she hasn't figured out yet to touch the ringmaster to make it turn on.

I bought this for my daughter who is one this Christmas. After reading the reviews I was a little concerned about the toy's volume being too low. I have to say, this is really not a problem in my opinion. The sounds are cute, clearly audible, and not obnoxious. She loves looking through the clear window at the little animals inside and she loves putting them in the top and then pulling them through the flap down door. It's a great toy, no complaints.

This toy should be awesome. Unfortunately, the RFID tags just aren't up to the task, so it ends up being frustrating.

I would like to say, though, that anyone who thinks the sounds are too quiet must have a loud TV on in the room, because they're just fine.

Here's the problem: the animal names/sounds only play if you put the animal in or take it out at just the right speed. If your child shoves the monkey in quickly, no result. If they push the monkey in but miss, and kinda push and twist until it finally goes, no result. You can get it to consistently say the names/sounds if you put the animals in or take them out at a medium pace, but at least my child has no interest in doing that.

Which means you end up paying too much for what ends up being a standard put-toys-in-take-toys-out arrangement. The Manhattan Toy Put and Peek Birdhouse is much better for that, anyway.

And while the on button is cleverly concealed in the tent door, the only way to tell if the device is on is by sticking a toy in and seeing if it says 'lion!' or 'raaaaawr!' or whatever. This is very frustrating for a child when they've finally gotten the hang of putting the toys in just right.

I bought this toy for my twin 1 year old girls for Christmas this year even though I didn't have a good experience with other Manhattan Toy toys. They loved it and it helped to teach them to put things in and take things out of a container. Well the sound quit working after 3 1/2 months. We tried replacing the batteries to no avail. Prior to it breaking I would have given it 5 stars. FYI - this is the second expensive Manhattan Toy that broke for no reason shortly after purchasing it.

Gave to my granddaughter for Christmas. Only worked for a short time. Of course, too late to return! Would not recommend buying.

I do have to push the door to turn it on for him, but My 7 month old loves this!!! he loves putting the animals "half way" into the hole just to hear the noise or name, then pulling it back out and doing it over and over and over again!!!

I purchased this toy for my nephew's 1st birthday and he loves it! It is perfect for his age and abilities. The entire toy is made of soft fabric, so he cannot hurt himself... or his little teeth. With new teeth coming in, everything goes in the mouth. 12 months is the "discovery" age also. Now that he is more mobile, he loves to explore everything around him. He enjoys taking things apart and putting them back together. This toy allows him to do just that, and it makes cool animal noises at the same time! This cracks him up, and he loves to mimic the sounds. Not to mention, the toy tells him the name of each animal he puts into the "circus tent". So he is learning while exploring.

I bough this as a gift for my 9 month old nephew. I don't usually buy toys that are battery operated, but it was so cute, and the sounds are not overly loud, or obnoxious. This is a really nice, well made toy.

Although I am constantly checking the reviews for products I purchase, I almost never write one myself. However, this time I am so disappointed not only with the product but also the manufacturer that I am compelled to leave one. This toy was purchased for my son for Christmas, however by March the toy had completely stopped working. We changed the batteries, but to no avail. We have since attempted to contact Manhattan Toy to see if they would rectify the situation or suggest a way to fix the toy. They NEVER responded to a single one of our messages. The only reason I gave this toy two stars is because my son still loves to play with the animals. If the toy only worked, I think we would be giving it five stars. But as it is, it broke within three months and the company has failed to even show a scintilla of customer service.
