I have Sworn Enemy's last album 'The Beginning of the End' & even though I havn't listened to it for a while, I didn't need to remember how heavy it was after listening to their newest brutal offering 'Maniacal' !! In other words, I was going to compare the 2 albums but there was no need as after listening to this CD...I was PUMMELED! 'Maniacal' doesn't offer any new sounds to the thrash/hardcore scene, but it continues to show how Sworn Enemy is developing into a better band in the genre. Song after song of pure, raw, BLISTERING brutality! Buy it extreme metal fans!

Man you just gotta love New York City ball-busting HC...and I do. Sworn Enemy reminds me of all the reasons I used to go to the wicked city to the grimy sro clubs and just get brutal with bands of this ilk. While they may not be virtuosos by any means,they are truly one of the masters of their craft, and a whole lot of mosh-pit inducing fun. What is evident on this latest outing is a definite love affair with all things 80's...such as Anthrax,maybe a little Overkill? Not a bad thing at all,especially for me, considering Ive seen the aforementioned bands in small venues back in the day. Now 42 and still a faithful headbanger,I really appreciate bands like this..definitely wearing the love for metal/thrash on their sleeve,not quite reinventing the wheel,but laying down some really good mosh heavy beats,churning riffs,and some very brutal vocal deliveries that make me want to suit up and go hit the pit. This is one of the better releases Ive come across this year while rekindling my love affair with all things hard and metal,and if you like the thrashy aspects of this disc I highly recommend the new Death Angel. Rock On.

This is a great CD and its one of those CDs that you instantly love the first time you hear it so its great for impressing your friends when they are riding in your car.

If you have heard their last album "Beginning of the End" this one sounds a little harder than that one and it is brutal with excellent drum beats and guitar riffs.

THis is some cool head-banging stuff. I am not really a fan of this kind of music but Sworn Enemy has rekindled my love affair with speed/death metal or whatever you call this stuff.

The double bass is so fast and cool!

This album was straight sworn enemy no change ups in the sound.I guess if it is not broke why fix it.If you like Eastcoast hard as f$#% music You have to have this album.
