Where's the music???,
By tophermon "tophermon" (Denver) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Manic Depression (DVD)
Muse is obviously one of the top bands musically in this day and age. Creative music and lyrics will always make them an amazing listening experience.
1st note: There is abolutely no Muse music on this DVD. I guess they did not, or could not get copywrite approval for the DVD. Maybe this should have been considered before even creating this DVD. 2nd note: The DVD does contain Muse interviews and such, but compared to the 63 minutes on the total DVD, its probably less than 15 minutes. Some of the interview footage is rather funny. 3rd note: The DVD does give some interesting history on how Muse met, where they came from, etc... 4th note: The DVD does have some interviews with people who have worked with them. The best of the interviews come from the old Guitar Tech, and a Producer. All the other interview sessions sound like a sale or a promotion of the band. Not sure how or where this DVD really came from, but it kind of was a dissapointment. Quality is pretty high, so some one did definately put some $$ behind this project. But seriously, how can you have a MUSE dvd without MUSE music?

For Die Hard Fans Only,
By Simisola "Julie" (Bellevue, NE USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Manic Depression (DVD)
This DVD is totally unauthorized, Muse did not participate and none of their music is used or played, which is a huge dissappointment. It is a series of interviews of past friends, hanger-ons and wannabe's, but it is interesting if you are as huge a fan of the band as I am and want to hear stories of what things were like for them in the beginning. The interviewees seemed honest, likeable and fans themselves so it was fun hearing from them, but you have to wonder how much truth there is to it all with no band support. I'd give it a 2 1/2 stars, only for rabid Muse fans.

Waste of money,
By Corey (CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Manic Depression (DVD)
This DVD was a waste of money and a waste of time. It's "unauthorized" by MUSE, so therefore there were no interviews, no live footage, and none of their music was included. They interviewed people who had never even met the band. I learned nothing new from watching it. Don't waste your money!

Worst documentary ever,
By Robert Chamberlin "Chicago Bob" (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews

I just became aware of Muse and I gobbled everything up including this dog. this quite possibly the worst documentary I have ever seen. This thing is not fit to become a coaster at my house. I purchased this at Fry's who I thought would only carry legitimate product.

You think that you got ripped off!,
By Leslie A Munday "deny everything baldrick" (Bellevue, WA United States) - See all my reviews

I bought this AND Burning Skies, only to discover they are the same identical DVD.
As pointed out elsewhere, the DVDs contain absolutely NO Muse music. I would like to know whether Muse get any royalties from these DVDs, because their fans are being ripped off. The DVD covers are totally misleading and should state that there is no Muse on these DVDs. Les.

Don't waste your money,
By Rosanne Kep "Rosanne" (Michigan) - See all my reviews

This is the biggest rip off dvd. Muse never authorized the dvd so there is NO muse music in it, no live footage of the band performing, basically there is nothing in it worth watching, don't waste your money on it.

Exactly the same thing as the suckful Burning Skies,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I ordered both this and Burning Skies - they are the same awful documentary! A total waste of money for any but those who must have everything ever made with Muse's name on it.
