great job of bleaching, but not nearly enough,

I bought the box set as it was my first time bleaching my hair, and I'm glad I was only dying less than half my head. My hair is only shoulder length and I was only bleaching the bottom third of my hair, but it was barely enough! I had to buy the individual parts separately afterwards to get my hair to a white stage, as the first application only left my hair (originally black-brown) a medium yellow. I found the individual components for the same price in a sally's except that I get a pound of powder and 32 ounces of creme developer, which easily cover all my hair and leave much for later applications. Buying the quantities in the manic panic box would have cost me at most five dollars if I bought the more expensive single use size applications.

I have very dark brown, almost black hair, and this product definitely worked! I achieved a nice platinum, almost white blonde! The only downside was that I had to bleach twice, and had to leave the product on my hair for an hour each time -- once to take my hair to a "cornsilk" yellow blonde, then again to reach near white. In order to minimize damage, I let my hair "rest" for a week in between bleaching. It made my hair a little dry, but I expected it with the double process.

Works Well, but Not Nearly Enough Product for the Money,

This was a gift for my brother and I used it on his hair last week. The bleach kit only contained enough product to do about 6 chunky highlights on his long-ish (4" or so) hair. I can't imagine trying to create a few highlights with this on my shoulder-length hair. There would only be enough product to do maybe 3 or 4.
The product does work as promised, with fast, maximum-lightening power, and includes clear instructions, gloves, bleach powder, developer, shower cap, and tinting brush. If you have very short hair or just want a few highlights without much fuss, this is the product for you. If you have longer hair, or wish to bleach larger sections, I would instead recommend picking up the kit items separately at a store like Sally's and spend just about the same amount of $ for double or triple the amount of product.

Uneven result,

The first stripe I put on came out nice and light yellow blond from almost black-brown hair. All of the stripes put in immediately after that came out bronze/ gold but not anywhere near as light. While the end result looks good, its definitely a far cry from my original intention for this box which was to put in all yellow-white streaks and do a sort of tie-die wash. Guess I'm goin' natural until I choose another hair bleach to try!
