4.0 out of 5 stars Good cd
This cd was set up nicely. Although there's only 5 different songs total, there's enough versions of them to make a 13 track remix album that leaves you pretty satisfied. Of course people might complain about the two remixes of "Guilty", (their trendiest song), but I like what Juno Reactor did with track 12. The utilized every part of the song except for the...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Remix CD
This is basically a remix CD of Gravity Kills' debut album. While these remixes are done fairly well.. The originals are alot better. Probably my biggest gripe about this album is the fact that they only remix 5 songs on here.. which is only half of their debut album.. there is a couple remixes of each of the 5 songs.. this probably would have been more enjoyable if there...

Probably my biggest gripe about this album is the fact that they only remix 5 songs on here.. which is only half of their debut album.. there is a couple remixes of each of the 5 songs.. this probably would have been more enjoyable if there were a remix of each song from the debut.. that way this wouldn't seem so repeatitive. But its worth getting if your a GK fan.

The utilized every part of the song except for the catchy chorus, forcing the listeners to focus on all the other parts of the song, like the rad guitar, and the overall speed of the song. If you want the trendy portion of the song, you'll find more of it in track 13, so don't worry. The three versions of "Here" are very good, and the Martin Atkins mix of "Enough" is a good reason to buy the cd. I would recommend buying this cd before the originals. It's always fun to hear the remixes first and work backwards.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Cd roar'd in like a lion...then fell off at the end..., February 7, 1999

Having only heard the Guilty single when i picked up this cd i was really thrilled to hear the 2 mixes of the great song... The other songs on the cd turned out to be really great from my perspective... But the 2 mixes of Guilty really left me hanging hoping for somehting better... All in all it is a good cd, slightly better in my opinion than there other cds, just don't expect to much from the last 2 songs

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't measure up, August 23, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Manipulated (Audio CD)
"Manipulated" is remixes solely from Gravity Kills' self-titled debut, so based upon the original album which the remixes were derived from, this remix disc simply does not stand up. The remixes are pure techno industrial and sound derived specifically for the techno industrial dance club but on simply a listeners level they don't capture the original sound of Gravity Kills' self-titled release.

While most of the songs on "Gravity Kills" flowed smoothly through a verse-chorus-verse structure and were firmly put together, many of the remixes on "Manipulated" sound choppy and over or under-produced. There tends to be too much repetition and not enough originality stemming from a majority of the mixes, which doesn't help the disc flow smoothly at all. Examples of the average mixing are Martin Atkins "White Light Remix" and unfortunately for such a great name in industrial, Al Jourgensen of Ministry's remix of "Enough".

That's not to say there aren't some bright spots on the album though. Critter's remix of "Enough" flows above the rest of the songs versions and both remixes of "Guilty" shine above the rest of the album, although the Juno Reactor remix is the better of the two and probably the best track on the album.

This disc is really for die-hard Gravity Kills fans looking to complete their collection and not for anyone new to the band as this will turn off most newcomers. If you want the real deal on Gravity Kills, shoot for the self-titled debut, arguably their best effort, and then "Perversion", which is slightly below the self-titled. Avoid "Manipulated" unless you want watered-down industrial dance music or you're a completist of the band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Remixes, March 6, 2002

*considering it is a remix album*

The remixes are quite different from one another and really qualify to be on the CD. Overall, it's a great addition to your Gravity Kills collection. Personally, if you have not heard any of their stuff, I'd buy on of their 'non-remix' albums first to get a better feel for the music. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy this disc!

4.0 out of 5 stars Gravity Kills fail to dissapoint the biggest fans, December 29, 2000

I love GK, but the Guilty CD-single was good enough to have so many versions of it. "Enough" what makes it worth it. One is version is done by Ministry's Al Jourgensen (and after hearing that version I have decided I may wanna check out their albums), and the one with mainly the girl in the background which i didn't really favor. It is my favorite GK song of each of 'em. "Down" isn't my favorite song but the remixes are better. Worth the money for a GK fan, and not their metal that's the s**t on Perversion, or the riffs on the self-titled debut.

Actually, even though five songs are remixed, I ended up liking it, because it's pure techno industrial.
