4.0 out of 5 stars The deeper look, January 14, 2004
This review is from: Manlike Monsters on Trial: Early Records and Modern Evidence (Paperback)
This book takes a deeper look into the Sasquatch legend. Rather than rehashing all the old stories, this book looks into the psychological, mythical, and underlying tones on the legends of creatures such as Sasquatch, Bigfoot, Wendigo, and others. This is a collection of essays from quite a number of people ranging from anthropologists to professors on mythology. There are in depths looks at perception and myth-influences as well as scientific looks at tracks, fecal matter, hair samples, and vocal recordings in relation to these creatures.
If you just want some stories on sightings, this is not the book for you. If you are an avid follower, this is a prime book for research and views on thought processes and mythos influences. It doesn't answer the question if Bigfoots exist but is an excellent book on perceptions and legend creation.
