All the books in this series are wonderful "teachers" for children. It is simply told yet the lesson is direct. I love the fact that the illustration show the differences between people (multi cultural, physical disabilities, young and old). My 3 year old grandson loves these books.

This book is already helping my daughter be more polite. She is saying please and thank you. It's a cool concept because she's learning while I read her a story. It's a semi-board book she can handle it herself too. Try a couple. I got the ones on germs, manners and hands are not for hitting. All the same concept. She just turned two last week and she's on the road to being polite.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! My son and I love this book. I read it to him for about a month and out of the clear blue (at the time he was 27 months) he said "excuse me" when he tried to get past me. I was shocked! Since then he also says "Please" and "Thank You" in the correct context. I would highly recommend this book to others.

I am sure that books like this work for some kids and not for others... but I have to say that this book really has helped us teach our daughter good manners. We started reading it to her occasionally when she was too young to be worrying about manners (15 months or so), but kept it in the regular rotation. By the time she was over 2 and started to need to use some of these expressions, they were familiar. She loves the book and really enjoys it-- I am not really sure why, but it captures her attention and at 2.5yrs, she always says please, no thank-you, thanks, you're welcome, excuse me, and I'm sorry with hardly any prompting from us. I'm not saying she's a perfectly-mannered little angel, but she does a really good job trying to use her manners correctly!
