5.0 out of 5 stars I'm hooked on this series by Merry Brown May 10, 2013

"Gold Manor Ghost House" by Merry Brown was a page-turning event; I couldn't wait to see the answer to the mysterious hints throughout the book. She develops her characters well and I can't wait to see what occurs in their lives next.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Read September 8, 2014
Format:Paperback
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
This book has such an interesting concept. As a lover of performing arts, I was especially drawn in by the blurb. Not to mention, I love a good mystery once and while! Unfortunately this book didn’t exactly live up to my expectations.
The plot was gripping for the first few chapters, but from there, it only went downhill. The plot got very confusing, which isn’t always bad, but in this case, it made the book a bit boring. I never got bored enough to want to not finish it, but on the other side, I wasn’t as sucked into the story as I wanted to be.
The characters are okay. The MC is a little annoying in my opinion, but I always think the MC is at least a little annoying. Adam is alright, but I felt like the author was trying so hard to make him swoon-worthy, that he just ended up being extremely unrealistic and over-the-top. Not to mention, the romance is a tad on the cheesy side. Okay, really cheesy.
With all of this said, I don’t hate this book. It would say it was worth the read, and I will most likely read the next books in the series. It just wasn’t my favorite. I have hope that the next book will be better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't stop at just one.... September 10, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved this book! I have read the author's other series, The Knowers, and thought that they would be hard to top, but Author Merry Brown did it with this book! I am sooo looking forward to reading book 2 in the series and will be picking that up soon! I enjoyed the way in which the author set up the details of the story, she painted such a vivid picture for the reader that it felt like they were a part of the story. The author also introduced the characters to us in a way in which the reader felt like they were able to get to know them. The characters ended up feeling like friends that the readers have known forever. The author makes the reader a part of her stories and that is something that many authors cannot achieve. I look forward to reading much more by author Merry Brown and pretty soon it is going to be hard for me to even try to pick a favorite out of her books. She has a unique style of writing that is both enjoyable and unpredictable. Her books are such a great pleasure to read, so do yourself a favor and pick one up today! You won't be able to stop at just that one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very fun read! April 29, 2013

I had a goofy smile on my face the whole time I read this book, loved it!
The main characters are believable and likable, the dialogue flows, and the story is engaging. One of my favorite things about it is the setting - it's a paranormal teen drama unfolding on the set of a teen-drama-Vampire-Diary-ish-TV-show, perfect! (But don't be misled by the Vampire Diaries reference - Gold House Ghost Manor is not about vampires. And it's not trashy. I probably should just delete the VD reference.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book May 7, 2014
Format:Paperback
I received a autographed copy of this book from the author. Thank you.

I absolutely loved this book. I love Paranormal/Supernatural books. I loved the storyline. I loved the characters. I could see a movie or TV series based on this book. I liked the romance of Anna and Adam but I really loved Corey. He is my favorite character of the book. This was a great book. I hope there will be more books in this series. I definitely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Read! April 24, 2014
By Alisha
Format:Paperback
I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed this book. It is a great YA paranormal read. The characters are very likable and the supernatural elements are unique but still mostly a mystery to both the reader and the female protagonist, Anna. One thing that is a little of a draw back is that the reader is left with a lot of unanswered questions especially about the paranormal world of the Four families and the supernatural war between them. Hopefully the author will clear up a lot of this confusion and give us and Anna more insight into this world in the next book. I will definitely be looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging, Entertaining, and Intriquing. March 29, 2014
Format:Paperback
This is one of those books that you want to read over and over again. It has characters you can relate to, scenes that are vivid and stick in your mind, and a plot that is paced very well. Let's start with the fact that I instantly started smiling as soon I was introduced to Anna. Her and Corey are so good together. It draws you in with carefully crafted scenes, and likeable characters. This book is something I would be proud to display on my bookshelf, and pass to my daughter. It puts a new light on the YA Fiction of Paranormal. I would love to read more of what miss Merry Brown has in Store for Us!
