5.0 out of 5 stars A book that helped me get through this year
2009 has been rough for me. This book has helped me get through as I experienced the end of my ten year marriage. 1.0 out of 5 stars Of little help
This should have been titled "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" because it is written so poorly. Be aware that this person is not a professional therapist or anything close; he is a handyman/landscaper. I have nothing against that, but don't expect much useful information considering the source. There are too many stories about his childhood and female conquests; it is...

2009 has been rough for me. This book has helped me get through as I experienced the end of my ten year marriage. While I know there are support groups for men, I have preferred to go through this alone and have chosen to go inward instead. But books like this one have helped the healing. What I appreciate the most was that this author shares his own story--right from the painful beginning to adapting to reaching a peaceful and optimistic ending. Knowing someone else has gotten to the other side of this has brought me a great deal of relief.

The advice the author gives about working out custody and dating was sound and wise advice I took to heart. I was torn apart by what to do when it came to custody, but the advice the author gave about staying reasonable and handling the situation as calmly and peacefully as possible was just amazing.

Another book I would recommend is Dating After Divorce - How to Meet New Women, Start a Sexual Relationship, and Have Fun Again....

5.0 out of 5 stars A fresh perspective, a must read, with a great ending., October 9, 2008
This review is from: A Man's Feelings: Finding Closure After Divorce (Paperback)
A fresh perspective, a must read, with a great ending. In "A Man's Feelings," Eads takes you through key turning points of his life, stressing the crucial importance of closure and sharing on how he dealt with loneliness and the stigma that goes with divorce. He shows how one can overcome such tragedy, coming out of it, a new person--much wiser and better off.

So what does a person do after divorce? What about dating and finding true love? This book comes from the heart, is enlightening and brings entertainment that touches the soul.

Written from his experiences, with vividness and emotion, "A Man's Feelings" is certainly a rare gem, proving, without a doubt, good things happen to those who persevere.

Regardless of whether you or someone you know are going through a divorce, I highly recommend reading "A Man's Feelings."

5.0 out of 5 stars An Man's Feelings...It's more than that., October 7, 2008

This review is from: A Man's Feelings: Finding Closure After Divorce (Paperback)
To date, I have read Michael Eads book twice and have found new and different points of resonance each time. Society, our courts and general consensus grant little credit to most men's deep conviction of the sanctity of marriage and the likely trauma of divorce. Michael's book nails the emotional hurricane people experience and subsequently stands as a guide and proclamation of hope toward a calmer, fulfilling future. This book may be one man's experience, yet simultaneously it represents the journey of millions, in less than 200 pages. Mike, my sincere appreciation to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Word for word, January 30, 2011
This review is from: A Man's Feelings: Finding Closure After Divorce (Paperback)
This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to any man who feels like the world is crashing after the word divorce is brought up. Instead of being like your friends, this book talks right to your emotions. It says the things that you've only told yourself. I finished the book in one day with the feeling of wanting it to continue. Like I had a carbon copy of myself that was right there beside me, agreeing to my anger and making me feel as if it's ok to feel the way I did. An absolutely must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book for a man considering divorce, April 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Man's Feelings: Finding Closure After Divorce (Paperback)
This is a personal account of one man's divorce journey. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly. The only thing that the author does not cover is dealing with children in divorce, since he did not have any.

The one tip I am going to take from this is to refer to myself as "resingled." Divorced implies a mistake or a failure. To become "resingled" is to admit error, but make the best of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars No pitty pot. (LOL), October 7, 2008
This review is from: A Man's Feelings: Finding Closure After Divorce (Paperback)
Michael's book is a message of hope and optimism for anyone willing to be honest and willing to let go of old behavior patterns. Michael makes you laugh but he also holds you (and himself accountable) in a way that elevates, and makes a person willing to do the hard work of introspection and change.

Thanks Michael for a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Should be required reading in junior high & high school, September 26, 2008
This review is from: A Man's Feelings: Finding Closure After Divorce (Paperback)
I have read A Man's Feelings:Finding Closure After Divorce(AMF:FCAD). Though Author Michael Eads may not have intended it, it can also serve as a sober lesson to all sexually active, or potentially sexually active, teenagers, who believe that making out has no drag factor, so long as there is no pregnancy nor sexually transmitted disease.

If you are a teenager who believes "just wear a condom" is guaranteed to prevent problems, read AMF:FCAD. And you don't have to be a guy to benefit from what AMF:FCAD has to say. Don't wait until your school or parents require you to read it. Nor wait until your hormones make you to make out. AMF:FCAD is not preachy, fun to read, and can easily be read in one sitting. These three reasons alone cause me to believe that it ought become a New York Times best seller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, September 23, 2008

This review is from: A Man's Feelings: Finding Closure After Divorce (Paperback)
Michael Eads'A Man's Feelings is a plain-spoken book composed of raw honesty, something not easily found in this age of platitudes and psychobabble. This is the story of an average man, enduring a horrible experience as best he can, and showing us how he survived to love again. He is not trying to solve your problem for you -- he is very aware each situation is unique -- but to tell you there is a path out of grief and anger. His willingness to expose both his failures and successes is admirable, and there are many passages where his truth is our shared truth, whether we are male or female, divorced or never married.

5.0 out of 5 stars Author Proves Closure is Attainable, September 5, 2011

This review is from: A Man's Feelings: Finding Closure After Divorce (Paperback)
In his book: A Man's Feelings, Finding Closure after Divorce, Michael Eads proves closure is attainable after divorce for those who are willing to work at it. If you are looking for a quick fix, this is not the book for you. Mr. Eads makes it clear that it will take time, patience and work to achieve closure. What I liked most about this book is the serious yet compassionate tone the author conveys. It is almost as if he is right there with you and understands what you're going through. I never felt more alone than I did after my divorce. Now, after reading this book, I realize there is hope for any man (or woman) after separation and divorce.

"If I can't find happiness alone, then I do not deserve it!" - My favorite quote from this book.
