The Art of Divorce Will Save Your Life,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Man's Guide to the Art of Divorce (Paperback)
The art of divorce will give you the practical and truthful method to end a marriage at the time you need the truth the most. Divorce involves guilt, second-guessing, and attempts to win back the approval of the divorcing spouse. All of these emotions will lead to disaster in the divorce courts if left unchecked, unanalyzed, and if not placed into proper perspective. The Art of Divorce will give you practical advice on how to deal with these emotions, and how to act upon them to bring about a successful outcome. Actually, the book could also be titled, The Art of Marriage, and should be required reading for all newlyweds.

Get advice on how to surrender!,

This review is from: The Man's Guide to the Art of Divorce (Paperback)
I found this book to be nothing but an affirmation of the low status of men in divorce court/family court. We are second class citizens with no rights. In this book, there are no guidelines to navigate and shore-up your position. It basically tells you to bend over and take it. Your choices are how low you drop your pants and how far down you grab your ankles. It reminds me of the "Twilight-Zone" episode, "How to Serve Man". I already knew how skewed, against men, family courts are. I was hoping to find some good advice to level the playing field. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. Now I can add the author of this book to the same "take-my-money-list" that the current family court system and my ex-spouse grace.

The Man's Guide to The Art of Divorce,
By Anson Storm (Kansas City, MO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Man's Guide to the Art of Divorce (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this 'easy read' guide to an unpleasant topic. I wish that I had this guide when I went through my divorce. The examples in the book are great and really 'bring the point home.' The 'Divorce Dictionary' is a must for all laypeople wanting to understand a complicated legal issue. Children are often the 'Victims of Divorce' and the author gives excellent advice on this very sensitive area. I heartily recommend this book to anyone contemplating divorce or working on saving their marraige before divorce is the only answer.

This book covers all of the emotional and practical matters that a man should consider when preparing for or going through a divorce. The focus is on having an organized and well thought-out agenda and the author talks you through each step of the process. It tells what type of attorney to choose, ways to protect your relationship with your kids, and things to consider depending on what state you live in. Very helpful!

Simple and Straightforward - Saved my A**,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Man's Guide to the Art of Divorce (Paperback)
This book helped demolish the fantasies I had about divorce. In plain, simple, easy to understand terms it described what I could expect from the divorce industry. Much of it was not what I wanted to hear, but what I needed to know before I went and got myself in over my head by pursuing the naieve strategies I had planned. The sections on how to select a good attorney are invaluable. Save yourself Will Robinson, every man contemplating divorce would benefit from knowing what's in this book!

STEEL BALLS,

Young tells the truth. Simple. Blunt. Easy to understand. No legalese. My favorite is his take on appeals. To parapharase he says the judges who review the appeal were lower level judges before they were appeal judges. Whose side do you think they are on?Buy this book! Read it three times. You will be ready! R. Don Steele, divorced three times!

Don't waste your money,

Large print, about 100 pages of written material. There are terms, appendix and other written matter to stretch the book out. The book has very small chapters and seems very cut and paste. It appears alot of repetition in the book. Sounds like Young had to enter into a poor first marriage and didn't get all the assets he hoped for so he is trying to profit off the book. Anyway, I wouldn't waste your money. I actually requested a refund and got my money back for the book and shipping and handling.

Serious, realistic advice,
By my lawyer has all my money (Southern California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Man's Guide to the Art of Divorce (Paperback)
This book won't tell you what you want to hear but it tells you what you need to hear. Most lawyers won't explain how and what is really going on with your case but this one will tell you how the family court system actually functions and what you can realistically hope to get. It's worth many times the purchase price.

Tells it like it is,

This review is from: The Man's Guide to the Art of Divorce (Paperback)
I've never been married and divorced but I read this book out of curiosity. The author tells it like it is and being forewarned is forearmed. The book explains that any benefit of doubt is given to women and better be prepared. There's a lot more details that is worth more than the price of the book both financially and emotionally. Highly Recommended!

As a battle-weary footsoldier in the divorce and child custody wars, one of my regrets is not having a book like this available to me 10 years ago. Young has done an excellent job of introducing the key topics that you need to know about so that you can make decisions that will positively effect the rest of your life. If you want politically correct bullsh*t (which, by the way, could get you your balls handed to you by her attorney) then go somewhere else. If the unvarnish truth combined with sound legal and human priciples are what you need, start here.
