4.0 out of 5 stars Twiztid....Good Men, Great Myth....., July 2, 2005
By
Carlos A. Cook (Columbus, Ohio United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Man's Myth 1 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
This has been a long awaited CD for me. Twiztid are my favorite on Psychopathic. This CD was worth the wait and it is only part 1. The Introduction is creative, sort of like the start of a movie. I really love the contoversial epithets. "Karma" is like the start of a great horror movie. The music is great and the message is profound. I mean, we have all done bad and good things, but wonder, do we deserve to go to heaven? or was it too bad to warrant, even hell? "Story Of Our Lives" is a good party jam! The music is bumpin! These guy will definitely party with anyone and loves to tell about it. This is true underground and tells of Twiztid's journey through life. Inviting everyone to come and enjoy their flow! "Won't Die" reminds me alot of 'Suicide Hotline' by ICP. The opening skit is funny as hell. The song is deep, like going through life and weathering all the storms, feeling pain, love, and pleasure along the way.

"Get It Right" is a controversial message about the church. I mean, what's with all the priests molesting kids and people dying for religious leaders? I see their point, that we have to make our own decisions. "So High" is all about getting high. I would say that this song is a sequel to Monoxide's Chainsmoker CD. These cats smoke so much that they are in a euphoric trance constantly and anything else is abnormal...LOL. "Off The Chain" has a funny opening. It starts with an awakening from being high and sleeping with a busted skank. Then it goes into a tribute to sleeping with any skeezer who will give up the panties.

"Controversy" is against all the policies and decisions of political leaders, such as sending us to war, hiding test results, and making us die for it, while they sit in the white house and tell us what war is like, hiding the fact that they really dont care if we live or die. "Get Ready" is an uptempo song about fighting for what you believe in, but as long as there is family in your corner, it's gonna be all right. "F*ck U" can be summed up as family sticking together. I mean, there are alot of people that hate on the juggalos and dont even know us, but when that happens, we all need to stick together as one family unit.

"Feel This" is knowing what Twiztid is about. Paul & Jamie have great music and they want all of us to feel where they are coming from. I respect their opinions and at times, even if we dont know where they are coming from, to just give them their respect. I dig that! "Entity" reminds me of the little spirit who lives in us, to tell it like it is. I mean, in society we have to behave a certain way, even though our personal life may be messed up. This results in supression of our feelings and in some people, self destruction. Twiztid is saying to not ignore those feelings, be yourself in all situations.

"The Argument" starts with what sounds like an exorcism, but is basically about fighting with your loved one. I'm saying, we have all said things to hurt the ones we have loved and vice versa, but we still dont want this person out of our lives, even though he/she may want to leave us. I suppose that we all should be honest in the beginning, therefore, we will know what we are getting into and can better prepare for it. (I wonder if this song is autobiographical?)

"Bonus Flavor" contains a mad sample of 'Luniz' "I got 5 on it". It's all about family. Lavel puts down mad props and tunes on this! Esham's singing is awesome and sort of gives this song a little gangsta flava! I feel that this a great hanging out with family jam! ICP and ABK join the party, talking about chillin' and smoking. This whole CD is the sort of CD where it makes you think, I like that and I know that Twiztid will be up in our domes again, in the near future. ( I gave this Cd 4 stars because I happen to like Mostastless and Cryptic Collection 3 better than this CD, but the Twiztid flava here is still tight...MMFCL for LYFE!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Psychopathic still has a few tricks up their sleeve..., July 19, 2005
By
This review is from: Man's Myth 1 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
All I have to say is that this album blew me the **** away. I really thought it would be average/mediocre since that's all we've been seeming to get from Psychopathic this year so far, but this album is f*cking amazing. Here are my thoughts:

1.) Introduction - Wicked intro. Has some real news clips mixed w/ some other stuff done by Psy. artists. Really gets you pumped for the album. Also, Shaggs ending part in this = wicked as hell. Also nice setup for "Karma". 4/5

2.) Karma - Amazing track. Took me a minute to catch onto this one but once I did its one of my favs now. Chorus is great & Madrox really kills this track. Mono has some good ish, too, but its hard to beat Madrox. 4.5/5

3.) Story of Our Lives - First single so pretty much every Juggalo's heard it. Kind of similar to "We Don't Die" in an aspect, except this one's not as good. Don't get me wrong, the track is hot, but on this LP it seems...ummm...out of place where it is. Regardless of how well it fits in with everything else, though, Mono's flow is solid & Madrox MURDERS the beat. His flow is f*cking INSANE. Definitely a strong point for him here. Also, the skit at the end of the song is funny/kind of disturbing. 4.5/5

4.) Won't Die - Like every other juggalo I thought it would be a sequel to "We Don't Die". Now I'm sort of glad it wasn't. This track is awesome & reminds me alot of old-school Twiztid. Great chorus w/ help by J. Another very strong point for Madrox in his verses. 4.5/5

5.) Get It Right - This track had me hooked from when I heard it on the MM sampler & its AMAZING. Madrox = completely ANIALATES this beat. His verses are so damn good its unbelievable. He also raises some very interesting questions about myths & the causes they have on society. Great stuff. Also Mono keeps up pretty well on this track. 5/5

6.) So High (feat. Violent J) - The weed song. We all knew it would be there. Pretty much average for Twiztid weed songs but Madrox & J have some hella tight verses. Mono just sounds at home here, too. Also, the skit at the end = LMAO. Really sets up the next track well. 3.5/5

7.) Off The Chain - The sex song. Damn its kind of weird how you can always predict these type of songs from Twiztid. This one's pretty good, though, and Mono has the better verses w/ more humerous lyrics. 4/5

8.) Controversy - I like what they're saying here but the track gets a little to "boring" for me. Both of them raise some good questions about the government/the war right now. Really good lyrically but overall just not one I'd bump alot. 3.5/5

9.) Get Ready (feat. Violent J) - Another J collabo, but there's nothing wrong with that. Wicked ass beat & FINALLY Mono rips the track like none other. However, J does have a verse that is wickedly fresh. Madrox rips it, too. 4.5/5

10.) F*ck U - Good song for a live show. Also really gets me pumped up. Makes me wanna go bash some brains in if ya know what I mean. >_> 4/5

11.) Feel This - This track shows off everything Twiztid's rapping skills have to offer. Madrox....I can't even think of a word to what he did on this track...lets just say his flow was "untouchable" here. Also, Mono throws out another stellar performance & both of them hold their own quite well. Not to mention its a catchy track. Could be a good single IMO if they would ever release more than one. 5/5

12.) Entity (feat. Shaggy 2 Dope) - This one is just a really good track. Madrox once again holds it down like only he can, Mono's verse is fresh w/ good content & Shaggs keeps up w/ them. Great chorus, love the beat, great song. 5/5

13.) The Argument - It really took me a long time get into this track but I love it now. Madrox...great chorus is all I can say. Another one that'll be stuck in my head for months to come. Also Mono sounds real Chainsmoker-ish here but thats a good thing for this track. 4/5

14.) Bonus Flavor (feat. Lavel, Esham, Blaze, ICP & ABK) - The fam track...and a really good one at that. A remake of "I Got 5 On It" by Luniz. Everyone holds it down but Madrox, Blaze & ABK are the highlights. 5/5

This album is f*cking great. Support Twiztid because they are one of the few spots on Psychopathic that still shine as bright as when they first debuted. Also MADROX should be f*cking knighted for this album he is SO DAMN GOOD. Mono just keep doin your thing homie.

Also, can't wait for Mutant (Vol. 2). Its supposedly going to sound more rock-ish but hopefully it'll be just as good as this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holy SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!, June 29, 2005
By
This review is from: Man's Myth 1 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
Holy SHHHH twiztid has taking this psychopathic thang to another level so get ready juggalos/lettes because this shhhh is really off the track, off your brain, poping out your eye balls into ice trays, its like an old man at the beach chillin, getting a tan . and then a gust of wicked flips his wig off. Wicked is the word im looking for.
The Question is when is Jamie Madrox coming out with his solo album????????????????If you never heard twiztid before buy this album then go backwards with the other albums???
