Johnny has a refreshing clear blues sound, his talent for guitar allows his arrangments not to be over done like many others. If you like clean guitar, solid bass and drums this artist has it. To say the least Johnny's style rocks.

Rockin' Johnny and his band have done a great job on this album. The sound of the band is clear yet rich at the same time. Every member of the band really good at what they do. Because I'm a harmonica player, I definitely take notice of any harp player on any album I come across. Most blend together in a stew of knock offs but Rockin' Johnny's harp player, Martin Lange, has a great sound and some original material. His work on the first track is something I use to pump myself up before a gig because it reminds me to go after those creative, yet very simple licks that can carry a song to new heights. So basically, Martin Lange's playing is relatively simple yet creative and highly affective. Rockin' Johnny also has a great approach to his soloing and knows when to let a single lick speak for him and when to let loose. The album touches on the familiar Chicago blues sound and also goes into the Rhythm and Blues arena. The sound is generally refreshing with its great, pristine instrumentation and rich, full bodied, traditional sound.
