THIS MANSION ROCKS OUT,

A3 has done it again--taken one of their already-dynamite tunes, 'Mansion On The Hill,' and remixed and speeded it up thus turning the original onto its ear. When you hear the results, it's impossible to sit still or get out of your head and believe me, you won't want to. This CD has the original MOTH, MOTH 'Hit the Dancefloor Mix' and an obscure tune not heard anywhere else: 'Shake a Tailfeather.' 'Shake a Tailfeather' features Rob Spragg's sexy growling at his finest and although you can't dance to it, it grew on me considerably. SaT's a direction I'd love to hear A3 continue on; then again, as far as I'm concerned, this band can do no wrong. This CD isn't only for completists, it's for everyone who loves A3 or loves to dance.

What a single should be,

The 'A side' (if there is such a thing with CD singles) is one of the strongest tracks from 2000's La Peste album: a cynical, rollicking blue-collar redemption gospel featuring lyrics like 'the meek ain't gonna inherit s---'. The remix version is well woth having, but isn't the main reason for buying this. That honor belongs to "Shake a Tailfeather", a brooding guitar-heavy song that reminds one of nothing so much as Guns'n'Roses' "Civil War"--truly a departure for the band. While the recording quality of "Tailfeather" is a bit raw, that rawness only serves to intensify the angry tone of the track. Along with "Converted Pt. 1" and "Reachin'" this is among the few singles worth buying even if you have the album.

Great buy,the title track is a gritty, rolling number, backed by the raw bluesy 'Shake A Tailfeather' and an insistant Arthur Baker remix of 'Mansion'.
